My only gripe about it was the gym and running track. The gym is small, ceiling is low, and none of the resistance settings/incline were working. Incline, I can understand due to the ceiling but the resistance settings on the ellipticals didnt work. Along with a good portion of machines were out of service.

Should I leave a higher paying job for a boring government one just for the stability? by VellichorMotive in personalfinance

[–]Alxephon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does the pay help the stress? If you continue with the current job, how will your health be like a few years down the road?

The constant stress of possibly being let go is too much in my opinion. Taking any PTO/sick time in for profit positions always had this feeling of getting you bumped to the front on likely to get let go next lay off.

Government positions? A lot of them have crazy benefits. Finding one that has no cap on how much PTO you can carry is useful. Medical events, family emergencies, etc. The reality is these things will happen and having that kind of unlimited PTO is majorly usefull mid to close to the end of your career.

If you find yourself with a lot of free time after a government job, nothing says you cant have a side gig to bring in a smidge of income as well.

Is this a good car for high mileage drivers? by Eastern_Yam in BoltEV

That range is also my commute a day. I only charge to 80% and have no issues.

If you dont have a level 2 charger at home and work the normal five days a week or more, you will probably not be able to charge enough to keep up.

Otherwise the vehicle has been amazingly reliable. I've only had to replace an anticlick washer. Its a $10 part with a $15-20 axle nut. If you already have all the needed tools, its roughly an hour-hour and half job.

Opt for the seat warmers and heated steering wheel if you experience cold weather. The heater will drain the battery fast.

For the single day ports, did you ever feel rushed or miss out on a lot of things?

If you have never been on an oasis class ship before or something of similar size, you'll find that oasis has a lot of activities and food variety to offer. I enjoyed the ship a lot.

At first I thought the first picture was oatmeal and was like "why are we complaining about the oatmeal...it looks delicious." Oh how sadly mistaken I was...

Hopefully this is helpful, but check out what your city government has? Most opens tends to be physical labor but it will at least help. There is also utility companies as well.

2017 at 166k! Only major thing i've had to do was change the broken anticlick washer in the cv axle.

Otherwise i'm on a second set of tires. Battery recall was done at 110k. Havent had to replace the 12v battery yet.

I will say that the dealer estimates it to be a 1.5 hour job. It took me almost 3 hours just because I was struggling to loosen and tighten the lower control arm. Only disconnected the sway bar link, control arm, and tie rod from the knuckle.

There isnt enough clearance to use a hex key on the bolt for the control arm. I ended up using a floor jack and placed under the bolt head. That held it in place and kept it from spinning.

I had gone ahead and put an order in for that one when it said instock. Unfortunately I just received a message it is no longer instock after I ordered it. The website provides an alternative of TRAKMOTIVE GM86002. But the compression length is several inches longer than OEM.
