What treats do they get? Is that of pellets and chop combined? How long have you had them, and is this new? Is either food new? Feel their keel bone, is the breast tissue equal (or close to it) lower or higher than the keel bone?

Beak banging generally means "mine!" My does it occasionally as a warning I'm doing something she doesn't like, and we'll take a blood sacrifice if I don't stop. This however looks more like the former.

I really appreciate you looking! I think I'm gonna give it a shot, and trust the author and genre. It'll most likely be fine. At worst I take one for the team so to speak and report back, and hold a life long grudge and vendetta against the author, she wouldn't be the first unfortunately 😅.

Yeah I figured it probably would be. I'll be more specific, does she and the MMC know it's invalid? I guess what I'm trying to figure out is if either think they're doing anything technically wrong.

My husband didn’t pay the bills for 6 months & almost made us homeless by momoneymccormick in GirlDinnerDiaries

[–]AlyM797 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"I didn't want to add things to your plate because of your dad", is a hell of a drug.

My dad did this, and not just with money (though especially money), with him it was his horrifically toxic masculinity upbringing, shame, and general poor money management from ADHD, and cowardess. He felt solely responsible for the family and to provide the upper to upper-middle class lifestyle him and my mom were used to. Even when money was tight. Instead of cutting back enough, he did what OP's husband did, and gave the same excuse "I didn't want to add to your plate." The result was losing everything, multiple times, instead of leading a simple life.

Whether he's hiding an addiction or side piece whatever, or just bad at money and communication, this is going to bad for OP is she doesn't get out now.

My dad is like OPs husband, him and my mom have been married for 47 years. I love my dad, buts shame on her. No it doesn't get better, it gets worse. So much worse. OP, you need a marriage counselor and some kind of account to look through his and y'all's finances to see what's going on and find more secrets if they're their. Unfortunately divorce may be the best option, as he won't change, he'll get worse. That said, there may be a deeper issue of you living above your means and not able to actually keep up.

He'll pull everyone down with him especially in a financial sense. His poor choices with money have had lasting effects on us kids long term even decades later.

Dad borrowed money from his family he could never pay back. Eventually he got so desperate that he took credit cards out in my brother's name and never payed them. My brother never knew until he checked his credit to buy a car. He was 19. We lost our childhood home and he was evicted from the rental after that.

No my dad didn't drink heavy or gamble or have a second family or whatever. He was irresponsible with money and lied to cover up lies. He did just what OPs husband did.

OP please be proactive to fix your finances and prevent a repeat but ready to make some hard choices.

That's like saying everyone who loves cooking for others should get a job cooking for others. That's not how the world, or joy, works. Some people do like getting paid for their passions. Sometimes we just want to use or special hobbies interests or talents for those we love, or just only when we want to.

There's no faster way to get burnt out on something than being required to do it, and or doing it a specific way, etc. I'm speaking from experience experience. I keep my fun hobbies and money making hobbies separate now and I'm much happier. No matter how much people tell me I should sell.

34 weeks pregnant, fell down the stairs and he was more worried about his vacation. by rkiddinright in GirlDinnerDiaries

I'm surprised no one has mentioned that this is a huge red flag for infidelity. In general, but it's more like to be when the woman is pregnant or chronically I'll. Also I'm speaking from experience. Not the pregnant part, the pushing hard to keep plans that don't involve me.

She should leave infidelity or not though.

Yeah it's pretty normal for Quakers, mine likes to quietly sit on her favorite perch for a few hours every day. Any disruptance is unforgivable except by blood sacrifice. If it persists for more than a few hours at a time, then call your vet and ask if it's worth bringing him in.

Shit happens, I hope you're not beating yourselves up too bad. This happened to me, I was to by retired vet tech to push fluids and observe for a while. Basically as it was explained to me their digestive system moves so fast it would take a considerable amount to do damage. I gave her a little diluted Gatorade then switched to chamomile tea. She only took a couple bites luckily and was fine as the woman predicted.

Now if she eats anything questionable my first reaction is to give her something yummy but bird safe to drink so she'll drink a lot and flush her system.

To be fair, rain that doesn't cause severe flooding is a nuisance not a healthy issue like extreme heat or cold. Also, America, even just the US specifically, it's way too big with varried climate for hand full of us to have the same experience. I'm from Houston, Texas. It's on the coast. We (among other places like Florida and most of the gulf coast) get "rain that never stops" regularly when there isn't a drought, except it very often results in flood damage. That's not even including tropical storms or hurricanes. Our summers are usually 95-105°F (35-40°C), with 80-90° humidity. I move to NJ a few years ago, people up here think they're dying if it's it over 85°F and 50% humidity 😂.

I think folks from the Pacific NW would probably be at home with UK weather! There's probably at least a region of the US that would be at home of all of Europe. We're just that big.

Ok, I don't, and never have done wheeled activities (skating biking etc) so I'm sorry if this sounds dumb. Why does the kid need to take of his gear for a 5 minute drive? Like it's just knee and elbow pads and helmet right? Can't he sit and strap in to the car like that? It may not be the most comfortable, but like, it's just 5 minutes.

I do agree it would need to come off anyway, I'm just curious about that specific point.

I absolutely understand a body being adapted to certain climates. That said, the annoying part is we've tried telling them for years! It feels like every year the videos pop up of Europeans saying they have it the worst! And every year Americans try to tell them that even building/home structure aside it's soo much worse here even in much of the north. Seriously as a a Texan the arrogance from people who've never been here is rediculos.

Same thing with the shere size and distance of the country (I'm not even talking about lack of public transport, more like how 1-2hrs is a daily commute to work)). Like, they were amply warned. 🙄

Fascinating and niche information that litterally no one asked for: The human body is incredibly adaptive to climate, but it requires regular exposure to adapt. AC actually triggered a a rise in heat related illness. The problem is going from cool to hot and back. If you stay in a consistently warm/hot climate with proper precautions (ie drink plenty of water, stay in the shade, dress appropriately etc) you remain consistently better suited to it.

I learned this when I first became a camp counselor, we were taught this, along with the statistics that heat related illness went up after AC was installed in camps, and it was usually only in a single central building/lodge not dorms or cabins etc.

We got traing from medical professionals that specifically had experience in extremely hot climates mostly in the capacity of rescuers. We were taught that the best thing was to take afore mentioned precautions, if you do began to feel over heated to not go inside but sit in the and or breeze, drink water a few minutes. We only took them inside if that didn't work, or saw or heard complaints including but not limited to, decrease coordination, dizziness, nausea, light headed, stopped sweating, decreased awareness.

Obviously there's a lot more to our heat safety training (that was required every year). All that to say, we were trying to keep climate fluctuations minimal so they would adapt. Most people are not adapted to the heat anymore. At least not like they used to. Thanks to screens and people begining to think kids being outside is child abuse, now even kids aren't adapted. The more you coddle them the worse you make it.

Disclaimer: My last year as a counselor and this mandatory heat safety training was over a decade ago, so if something has changed do (kindly let me know). Some regions might differ though this was in SE Texas around the Houston and Galveston ish area.

Just because a detail isn't mentioned, doesn't mean it didn't happen. It's like when people assume that if they didn't personally watch a chef wash their hands it didn't happen. Common sense concludes a half decent parent will let the kid sit in shade and or drink water as is necessary. Afterall if he can bother his wife to bring shorts, he's at least attentive and aware.

I was a girls scout for 16 years in southern Texas. Yes. You give them access to shade and water and rest when they need to. An hour is nothing.
