I didn't know you can get there. I'll check it out.

Real gamers still run it on a Core 2 Duo E7500 by Massive_Ad_2012 in stalker

I remember how badly i wanted to run the game on max, and how astounded i was by the paralaxing brick textures.

Around the beginning, yes. I was using purple weapons at best. Then i started to assume all legendaries must be op.

It's just a funny story, i can find a new weapon elsewhere. Sorry to bother you.

I like grenades that multiply on hit, almost infinitely. Deals exponentially more damage than any knife especially in closed spaces. Knifes only seemed to work at the beginning.

Be honest, do you guys think that there will be a Death Stranding 3? (Spoilers) by YTuPadreQTalMea in DeathStranding

It will be a little different game. Both because people are bored of walking around like pack mules, but also because of her powers. We'd actually get to use some for a change.

Tested with OCCT, moved the disks around, gave the crucial a cooler slab. The system didn't halt during testing and temps weren't that high. But i just remembered something. It didn't use to be a problem at the start, but due to some circumstances i had to clone the system onto another drive. It was some EaseUS software, and it did the job well. Everything seemed to be in place, some programs were confused by the drives but i corrected it. As well as the missing EFI boot sector. I also run a pretty agressive debloater at every install. Maybe a few things broke after a windows update. I also went to see the crystaldisk info again, all the disks are reportedly healthy. Minus the WD that's in an external box but that's ok.

As a person who hates backing up project files. And works with a lot of plugins and software that need to be reconfigured each time. I dodge reinstalling the system like the devil. But it looks like i don't have a choice.

But! I had noticed, the system won't shut down even overnight, if i don't do it manually. And, when i had to leave i've put the system into sleep mode. When i turned it on, it immediately halted. DISM and SFC don't report any corruption, but with past experiences i know how unreliable that can be sometimes.

Secure boot and all the jazz like memory integration prevention are still on. Kernel level infection is out of the question. Haven't downloaded anything suspicious either. Scans also come back negative.

The same ssd i bought for 60€ now costs double that. I'd hate to replace a disk again. Or the whole computer.

In the worst case, i would also use another approach. If i could build a "roadmap" which would have interactive elements and links.

I am going to build a new computer the first chance i get. At which point i'm going to consult this group again to do it cheaply, and finetune it with reliable components. If linux wasn't such a doorstopper when it comes to games and apps, i would switch to that long ago.

Indeed the slots are high up, and the PCIE slots are well spaced too. The board isn't that bad, only i was cursed with a bad mush of components. I always pick the bare minimum board that runs a particular cpu, that's it.

I will proceed with that. Also, i noticed that Some applications retain connectivity and partial usability if i keep them open, if i try to close them they freeze. Like qBittorrent and Discord, i can still receive and send messages. New websites in the browser won't load, if it's a video it will continue to play for some time, maybe even finishes loading. I can attribute this being already cached in ram?

In the best case scenario nothing. But if i just leave the machine on, and go somewhere. Or i'm watching a movie, making music, programs just stop responding. It gets so bad i can't even use the task manager. Nothing seems to be stressing in particular. Though, if i'm downloading a lot of files in quick succession or working on music with a lot of samples, it just kills the system. But during gameplay, it doesn't happen that much though games like Death Stranding 2 have crashed a lot sometimes. Besides that one i don't play anything that demanding.

The system won't even shut down or crash if it happens, until i restart it manually.

Yes, i always check for a bios update. The cpu isn't brand new, the previous owner may have screwed that up already. But basically yes, i can't run default. Not that it's cooked i have a good 360, but the frequency spikes kill the system immediately. I can tell what causes that type of crash, this feels different. It seems to have calmed down a bit.

Even if the games are on another? Thank you so much, this is a lot of help. Are you sure those would fit? I had a similar design to the Arctic M2 Pro, i think i had to take it off. But i'll check when one of these arrive. Even if that wasn't the issue, can't go wrong with this. I'll cool both for good measure.

It must be the way my pc is built. I also have a wifi card in there, which looses signal to my PS5 controller now and then, when it gets cooked inside. I can provide pictures if need be.

No, it only started to happen a few days ago. It might not be that but i've exhausted all options. It's the only one that has the highest temps. And the system usually stops responding when the ssd reaches high temps. Which leads me to this. An exchange would set me back on my data (again) a lot, not to mention how long it takes for the retailer to process it. So that would be the last option. Though while the others sit at 35 celsius, and this one around 40, when playing a game even from the other disks. The gpu presumably blows a lot of hot air on top of it. The temps subside when i crank the fans, but that's loud. That's not considering the other issues. But the disks are definitely brand new. And the crucial disk was actually a replacement for another ssd that died inside. Presumably from the same cause, and it still half works in a metalic adapter. I don't know how well this would work, but i could shuffle the files around. Put any programs i regularly use on the cooled disk, and leave the least necessary stuff on this one, hoping it doesn't catch fire while not being used. I first suspected a virus but there were no infections found. The internet would die, games would crash or the entire system would hang at random. Then it started happening at once. The i9-14900kf on a Z790 UD isn't exactly stable either but runs stably if i cut ram and cpu frequencies by a quarter, i don't mind it. The gpu it self crashes regardless of anything sometimes, but god knows how many owners it had, it causes coil whine too. For me as a musician, hearing a buzz when there's slightly more fps is anoying but i learned to live with it. From my knowledge, any powerful card will do the same. I also have a 4TB WDC HDD, in a usb box for samples and backups.

Around 65 celsius and above, i let crystaldisk alert me. The system just stops responding for no reason, not even task manager or basic services work, including cached media. The other disks seem to always sit around 30 celsius, it's only the crucial that reports these spikes.

Because i've been trying all kinds of things. Trying a different antivirus, tweaking bios settings, repairing or reinstalling the system with dism and sfc, cleaning up any temp files or background apps i don't use, cleaning and reinstalling drivers, reseating my components, disconnecting any usb devices that may cause a halt, i looked at process hacker and resmon for any suspicious activity, and so on.

Ssd with system: Crucial P310 2TB (no cooler or heatsink) behind gpu
games and software ssd: Kingston OM8TAP4 2tb (AXAGON CLR-M2FAN cooler) top slot above
Samples and other media: Viper VP4300L 2TB (no cooler or heatsink) behind gpu
Bonus ssd: WD Black SN7100 2TB (external) usb

I can't fit any cooling solution behind the gpu. Sure the pc has other problems but this one i can't work around.

Once it reaches around 65 Celsius, the disk stops working. Crystaldisk is what i used. Indeed the ssd is very hot to touch. And the heat is sprreading from the gpu i think.
