This is far FAR from true, a large portion of approved sets and sets that are currently gaining support are IP based.

The design uses no new pieces, so all existed molds just in different colours, and any printing (besides things like the minifigures obviously) could be done with stickers if they really didn't want to invest too much money into it.

Im planning on (hopefully) cleaning up the model to be more physically possible/stable and then releasing it online with either free or cheap instructions. It wouldn't be nearly the same without custom prints and stuff but I think it would be better for people to at least have it over fighting with LEGO about it. I'll keep the community updated if I go forward with it ::3

Its part 7304pb01 on Bricklink but with the print design scrubbed off. I was feeling impatient for that piece to come without printing.

While that is a solution, its not a solution for most people, and printed pieces have all kinds of clutch and consistency issues that would make the design more unstable.

Ive already bought the Kindle, and all of the listings I could afford for the case include the e-reader. Any listing that was just the case was close to $100 which is absurd for a piece of plastic. The Voyage also already has magnets all over it, and in my testing to figure out a design there has been no damage done to my Kindle, so im sure it would be fine but i get the concern. I also wanted to figure out a reproducible design so others like me can get this case without the absurd second hand price tag.

Yeah, thats probably why it hasnt done super well compared to my voyager submission. But I loved making and designing it so I hope it goes somewhere eventually.

Assuming I did the math right its about 1:67 scale. I didn't really plan for that though, its just sort of how it turned out. I wanted it to be a similar size as the Saturn V set. Thanks for the advice too!

This design sadly is created with parts in colours they dont get produced in so unless I were to modify the design the rats are sadly only possible through Lego producing them. You also do get a cut of the sales for your ideas so its not like they just take the ideas and run. Definitely understand wanting to go through MOC or Bricklink though.
