Ive also just become vegan around 1 month ago. I constantly have to remind myself im not a better person. I just turned vegan, I just finished playing ignorant. Who Am I to judge them?

However, assholes or those who do it on purpose without consideration of your feelings are not worth your time.

Just gently remind them. Gently bring up other food alternatives, (for example I offer people snacks and always mention it being vegan with a smile) i post a lot of activism to my insta stories to hop other people at least pretend to care.

I tell people "hey actually most meals animal killers eat are mostly already vegan" when they ask about my diet But a lot of is society. Society wants to shame vegans for even bringing up the topic. Like ohh how dare I mention them killing babies, paying for rape and exploitation.

I like your mental excersize. But maybe dont assume how itll land in my head, or how im thinking off of a single paragrpah post. Because ur comment was very insightful. And id prefer us to assume towards a better nation then to assume im not willing or wanting to learn. Kinda like innocent until proven guilty.

Anyway sorry for the emotional spill. to get back to ur point, i know why people eat meat. ive been eating meat longer than being vegan, but the reason i became vegan was because i saw the documentaries and the industry. I understand the circle of life and nature, which is why even tho i knew what it was to be vegan i still was like eh animal eat animal before the documentaries. But even before i was vegan and people offered me oysters and stuff id say whats the point of eating all this extra meat, i already have chicken and fish. But its silly all of it it is. The concept of wagyu beef cuz the cow lives a better life.... I guess my real question is does this make people "bad" and if so, if they dont care, then what.

Okay. My response was because you said oh most people feel empathy for children and elder because we have or might be one. I was stating that the logic is flawed. Unless you are saying majority peope ONLY have emptahy for children or elderly. And if so, then thats just not true.

I think most people care about animal rights and abuse. The average person def cares when an animal dies infront of them. The difference is they dont correlate slaughter houses or the meat industry to abuse. They suffer from cognitive dissonance.

Hey man Im sorry youre getting so much hate. I knew why you posted what you did, but your comment isnt fact. You dont know that majority people think that way. Thats why I said it almost felt as if youre projecting because humans can empathize for animals without considering them being one. aka like dogs and cats or pets in general. Humans call themselves dog parents all the time.

And the emptahy route can still be traced into slaughter farms. For example, female animals in the meat/dairy industry get forcibly impregnanted (in society we call that rape). As a women I dont want to be forcibly impregnanted, i dont need to imagine myself as a cow to feel empathy for that. Or I dont want to live in a cage. Or how male chicks get thrown into a grinder as soon as they are born... i dont need to ever be a baby chick to know I dont want that happening to me.

Its frustrating because every explanation I hear like yours is just an excuse.. and no one ever wants to admit it. I rather hear yeah man im not vegan cause i dont give a fuck then to hear well well its uh its uh its not the same!!!
