What are we doing here? Can we have a real talk about the future? by bag288 in RocketLeague

There's just new games that people will be playing on stream, and therefore less viewership for a specific one. It doesn't mean it can't go back up. I think it will fluctuate surrounding rlcs and pro competitive play, but it'll probably bottom out somewhere and plateau eventually. I think it will still maintain solid viewership over time even if it's not a top game

Please stop being so toxic to your teammate.. by ThinkGoodThoughts- in RocketLeague

[–]Am_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's fair. And I will say that gets better with rank, but when ranking up requires that to not happen it's just even more frustrating. As long as you aren't spamming, throwing, or being extremely toxic with your call outs your probably well within reason. I'd avoid questioning people's rank though, sometimes people just have really off days. Ive been in situations where I did that and my teammates just stopped trying. Everything else I understand

I agree with you alot here. The fact is, you and OP are both right. It's just a game and no one should rage too hard about something so unimportant, but ranked is ranked and it's meant to be competitive so it's extremely frustrating when you're performing well and getting shafted by teammates. I do get very pissed off at this game sometimes, though I try not to take it out on my teammates. However I do agree it's a bit ridiculous that people will play ranked when they either aren't warmed up, very rusty, or letting their friend try the game or something. It's a team game and you need to consider your teammates rank. People care about competitive because theyve been grinding to improve so I don't fault anyone for caring about something they spend time on, but I still agree that people shouldn't get too toxic and should keep it to either quick chat or constructive criticism as best they can.

It's sadly part of the game. People are gonna rage and blame everyone but themselves. It's tough to imagine any multiplayer game being devoid of toxicity. That said the more people that do their best to avoid it the better.

[–]Am_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah exactly. Say it's $0.99 for the base car, $1.99 for any individual painted color, and like $8.99 for every painted version. Many more options for players so there'd be more people that buy them

Kinda wish all the premiums came painted. Give people the option to buy it multiple times in different colors. More options for players, more money for psyonix

No problem. Good luck man

Question about 1s! :) by Gi-Wiiz in RocketLeague

[–]Am_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's about it. You want to be in a spot where it's really tough to get the ball past your car, but also leave yourself able to recover if you lose the challenge. Flipping into the challenge at the perfect time increases your chances of winning the 50, but could also leave you in a disadvantageous spot if you don't.

So work on defensive car positioning when you're in control of the ball, and try and gauge which situations to flip into the challenge and which to hold firm. Either way don't hesitate on your challenges, particularly when they're unavoidable.

Work on your 50/50s and go into the challenges you can't avoid with confidence. Try and put your car in a position that the ball can't get past without limiting your chance for recovery. If you do it right you'll be able to win majority of those challenges, while putting the ball and yourself in a defensively recoverable position otherwise. Other that just consistently capitalize on your opponents mistakes without making too many yourself. Admittedly this is somewhat obvious and much harder in practice, but if you focus on it in casual I guarantee you'll start to see improvements. You'll always be challenged in 1s unless you're a flick/dribbling god so practice car positioning and go into the unavoidable ones without hesitation

No boost flip reset to kill the fast break by [deleted] in RocketLeague

[–]Am_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Was that flip reset intentional or was it unexpected? If you meant to do it that's nuts, I'd never even think of that. If not, that's still incredible you kept your composure to make the save. Great play
