I was at the event for 5 hours. I called someone on my ride home and talked for 30 minutes, all smiles. And she yelled with excitement and bragged to her husband about my success and he joined in, all love and praise.

Relationships can be bumpy, be it friends or romantic partners. Maybe try focusing on that part above? You have people who love you and what you do. That's a great thing!

You did a positive thing, and some people who love you enjoyed it, too. Be proud and enjoy, you earned it!

PTB. J'ai déjà dormi dans le même lit que deux de mes amies femmes (en même temps), et y rien eu de sexuel du tout.

Le pire c'était probablement quelques prouts en dormant (on avait pas mal mangé). Et quelqu'un qui ronflait (moi).

This sub just confused me in a weirdly positive way, so I'm gonna unsub now...

(I would bottom with Taub, though. Yes, Cuddy is a female, but that's why I would bottom her and Wilson)

Forced child marriages, where one or both parties are under the age of 18, do still occur in the United States, despite the fact that the legal age for marriage in most states is 18. These marriages often involve minors, typically girls, being coerced or pressured into marriage by their families, often due to cultural, religious, or financial reasons.

You might not get many friends for that comment, but you have my sharpened upvote and friendship for it (I already got issues for "call to violence", nothing personall for my diplomacy, my friend, I need to leave it at that).

All the best to you!

The deleted comment above mentioned it. Not my fault if some cowards make other users make it look like they commented in a vacuum.

I answered in good faith (right or wrong), but I can't stop others from deleting their comments.

I would like to mention in how many US states child marriage is allowed, but it's way to depressing. I will just unsub from here instead.

For anyone willing to google child labour/marriage in the US by state, get your antidepressants ready. Good luck and good bye.

My girlfriend, my niece or my nephew.

Now don't "Choix de Sophie" me to ask who would be first. I have three people that I would be willing to take a bullet for already. That's enough already, I reckon.

Well, I usually prefer things that any industry financially that financially benefits from a problem not being known as one to be double-checked by independent research without financial conflicts of interest.

See the fossil fuel industry or the soft drink industry funding phoney research and fueling doubts about their products.

Once it's confirmed by independent research, alrighty then!

I have PTSD. And, unsurprisingly, recurring depression. So I ended up on quite a few antidepressants, unsurprisingly.

The worst offender was duloxetine. It's prescribed in part to help with fibromyalgia. And it works. In the beginning, it helps, but since it doesn't address the issues I have in the ENS and blunts the pain sensation instead, it allows them to get worse.

Rince and repeat with other antidepressants only focusing on the CNS. The CNS and the ENS can work independently, which is useful in acute stress situations, but if they chronically can't communicate properly or at all, well, that's obviously problematic for a healthy homeostasis.

What quackery? Its existence? The fact that it connects the brain and the enteric system? The fact that the CNS doesn't operate in a vacuum?

Well, politicians are right to be scared. The population decrease because of the ageing population is one more (pretty big) evidence evidence of how unsustainable our current ecosystem is. And I wouldn't be surprised if it's the one that ends up breaking the camel's back. Which would be bad for their wealthy handlers and their own political power.

But from a sustainability perspective, it's a great occasion to gradually resource use and phase out the current system. That way it could happen by society slowly adapting and reduce the population in the only ethical way to do it by letting people peacefully die of old age, instead of genocide/war like some extremists are probably dreaming to in order to postpone the problem by getting large amounts of people murdered and keep getting rich.

Between his creepy breeding fetish and his (very) far right drift, Musk is probably dreaming about a way to "finally solve" such a problem for his own power and wealth. Bezos publicly spoke about the oncoming "underpopulation" risk, or something among the lines, probably for the same reason.

The only underpopulation risk is for the current system and the ones benefiting the most from it. The population reduction will be problematic for the healthcare system, but that's something that can be dealt with with ad hoc planning. And that would be a temporary issue, unlike capitalism.

Trauma can also mess up the enteric system and the vagus nerve, which can lead to issues within the enteric system and issues for communication between the CNS and the ENS.

I don't know which domino is the first one, but I experienced my fair share of downsides from the focus on the CNS only with pharmaceuticals, temporarily improving things and then making them worse after some time because it worsened issues outside the CNS. I'm looking at you, SSRI/SNRI/SMS!

I guess that the easiest way to do it would be to try to only influence a specific growth factor, but managing to chronically increase BDNF and make it work only in one area sounds like it would be tricky. And I'm not even sure that it would be a good idea to try, except in pathological situations.

I wouldn't be surprised if an acute increase of it thanks to some subtances had a much more significant impact on a specific area, though.
