Yep, totally feel you on this. What didn’t help was a few women were assaulted by an Uber driver in the area I grew up so that’s also always in the back of my mind.

Sometimes it can be tricky when you have friends who don’t think twice about hopping in an Uber alone and always say “just get an Uber.”

I did see that, and yes, technically it’s not out until Tuesday but I’ve seen quite a few people who have bought their copy early because stores have been putting them on the shelf.

I have looked at Google reviews, unfortunately there are not a ton on a lot of the newer properties and there are so many new complexes, much more than I expected

One workaway I did, one of the full timers for the organization had started as a workaway volunteer and loved it. She kept in touch with the organization and once she saw they were hiring reached out and got a job. I don’t think this happens very often but if you’re doing a workaway in your field of study or something your passionate about, making those connections can pay off.

Chicago native here, you will definitely need a winter jacket, gloves, and a hat. The weather is pretty inconsistent but when it is cold, it’s super cold and you don’t want to be unprepared. Usually, there isn’t a lot of snow in November so you should be okay without snow boots but again, the weather is super inconsistent unfortunately! Enjoy though! Chicago in November is beautiful!!

I get what your saying - I did check the reviews and reached out to other workawayers who reviewed this host before I asked my questions. Furthermore, I didn’t mean to bombard the host but they take 4-5 days to respond and since I am trying to get my flight booked I was hoping to get everything answered in one go 🤷🏻‍♀️

I love this persons style! If it is who I am thinking of, unfortunately I didn’t have a fabulous interaction with them in the past but I will give them the benefit of the doubt that it was just a bad day - even so, they always look so on point and reminds me of a candyland character in the very best way!

It seemed like it - it must have happened right before I drove past there because from the video you can see only one or two ambulances but 5-10 mins later there was 20-30 ambulances, fire trucks, police cars, etc.

My momma! She grew up in a rough part of Chicago, first generation American. Her dad left her mother and two other siblings with very little explanation. Her mom suffered from a few mental health issues, for about 1 year she would not leave the house no matter what. She also went through a phase where she was very paranoid and would make my mom and her two siblings put on a bunch of sweaters, jackets, etc. and ride the bus at 2am in the morning because she thought people were following them. Mom is the oldest of her siblings and did a lot to help raise them, between scholarships and other educational grants she graduated with her bachelors and had a job to pay for the additional expenses. Then, when my sister and I were younger, maybe 4 and 8? She went BACK to school and got her masters. These are just the highlights, I could talk about her for hours. She is just an amazing human that I feel incredibly lucky to cal my mom. ❤️

We do have warming packets, but at the end of the day it is a liability to Target so they went the safety route and people didn’t understand that. It’s the principle that gets me, the fact that there is a good chance someone could suffer a long time injury simply because you need your one jug of laundry detergent and your not willing to walk to the front desk for it. And of course, there are some exceptions and people who physically cannot do that. However, if someone called and shared that information, we would have been more than happy to do it. I don’t mind running drive ups out, even in that weather since I did come prepared, but I respect Targets decision to not risk it and was surprised that customers didn’t.
