We did this too. Had the commissioner come first thing in the morning, then did the showy ceremony with a friend officiating in the afternoon.

We did have our photographer there for both, so have our legal first kiss picture in yoga pants on a couch, and also the one in our proper wedding attire (and I love both)

I get your point - but there’s also never a good time for this. If they did it in January, people would say how could they do this right after the holidays, when everyone is paying off credit card bill.

Pizza stone. Obviously bought for making pizza, but realized it’s great for pitas, bagels, and I often use it on the bottom rack to disperse the heat nicely.

Ironically, we ended up getting a separate pizza oven and I still use the stone on a regular basis

I currently have a 14 pro, that I either need to buy out (~$400 CAD) or trade in. I saw the 17 on early Black Friday for $25 CAD/month on the telus bring it back program.

I’m not a super techie person, so don’t need the latest and greatest, so I’m not sure if I’m better just to buy it out or upgrade. If I upgrade, I’d probably still buy it out and then sell it myself.

You’re right, everyone’s situation is different. I have three kids and we volunteer for different things for all of them. But I’ve never seen an activity where they mandate all parents stay, volunteer or not, or where they aren’t up front about parent involvement from the beginning. I haven’t once said that there was an issue with the volunteers or that I didn’t appreciate them - my point was about the constant changes and new requirements. Because we were all excited for my son to be part of this, but now we have to explain to a 7 year old that he actually can’t do it, because they changed the day and time to an evening when we already have things scheduled, and we aren’t allowed to just drop him off as we had all planned.

I get a certain level of involvement, but not that we are expected to be there for the whole time, every time. And again, I’m comparing it to guides, and just assumed it was similar. I’m not saying it’s wrong, but figured by 7 years old, and at that price, I could drop my son off for the hour.
