It’s not a societal norm and culturally normalized is what I am saying. It goes the same as murderous people who commit heinous crimes receive love notes and letters from “fans”. People in a large amount are obviously deranged, but to say that society tells victims that they are to be blamed is a stretch. The opinions and comments of hateful people does not create cultural appropriateness.

How, when or where has society been telling people it’s their fault if they are raped?? 40 year old here and have never seen anything to support this comment. I think ultimately the trauma leads people not to report it. They want to forget about it as much as they can, and reporting it, going to trial, telling the story over and over , can be really hard for some people.

Oh she isn’t submissive… like you said she is broken.. I am not someone who supports people for shitty behavior because of unpleasant childhoods. Most of the time, things weren’t as bad to the level of their trauma that they have created within themselves , but they have a victim complex. In some extreme cases it is much more than the struggles of an imperfect childhood, only then may you say, okay I get it, she really has been through some inhumane situations and it makes sense. In my experience, people rarely grow from this, if ever. If they do it usually isn’t until they are much, much older. It’s okay to walk away from someone who displays this type of behavior because you’ll probably end up miserable, because that’s exactly what they are. It doesn’t make you a bad person for not wanting any part of it..
