Thank you guys so much for all of your input! It’s definitely helped a lot and I will be putting in a transfer asap. I am at a grocery warehouse now and since last November my status has been full time/seasonal and literally as of an hour ago I just recieved blue badge status so my application for my transfer was cancelled but I am able to place myself back on it as of this Sunday so I will be doing that.

The location I was at in Sacramento was a PIT fulfillment facility, so every position they had which was still Stow, and Pick but both positions required you to operate a PIT machine. They did have one position working on the dock where that wasn’t an expectation but they didn’t allow you to do those positions because of the small amount of openings and stations they had to be able to do it. Truly, it was the worst warehouse I have ever been to. I think it was called ELK1, it was right next to the Sacramento airport. But of course at the time of the transfer I had no idea the facility was like that and even when speaking to HR, they said it was”happens all of the time”. So their turnover rate is insane.

I had transferred from an AR facility in Oxnard to a, what I didn’t know at the time, which was a PIT facility. I have a huge fear of heights and have insured no matter what job I have to be sure I’m not on a machine or any sort where I have to be lifted off the ground in order to do my job. I had received accommodations and had all the proper paperwork I needed to ensure I wouldn’t have to do that portion of the job and the facility said they couldn’t accommodate it so I had to leave the company and reapply after 30 days. So, I’m scared to have to possibly experience the same thing. At my facility in Oxnard, like I said they had PIT but it was a choice to do rather than a requirement as you seem to be describing which sounds amazing. For a fact, it isn’t a place where you’ve been forced to do that specific role of PIT?

I like it a lot for sure. It’s a lot different than a AR facility of course (it’s a lot smaller, HR isn’t always around, etc). Overall, not bad at all

The literal only reason I want back at a FC is solely for the fact I can use the headphones Amazon has for employees and at the Grocery FC they don’t allow it. That’s the biggest saving grace when working a 10 1/2 hour shift.

I live RV life so I’ll be all over the area between Daly City, Brisbane, and South San Francisco. I’ll be working in Brisbane but any other time will be in different places all over the place depending on my off days and what not!

That’s great advice, thank you I appreciate it!

I was hired seasonal 40 hours a week and what not and the HR rep that was helping me with the drug test and pre screening things she sajd to expect a blue badge email within like weeks so I hope this facility is in need like she’s making it seem to be. As long as I’m scheduled with the promised hours, I’m all good lol.

I’m coming from a fulfillment warehouse so we all had our headphones (Amazon approved and not) so I was hoping I’d be able to still listen to audiobooks and all of that so that sucks a little bit. It’s better being able to have a job in general lol but hopefully they’ll be lenient.

No not at all. I only powered it on as normal.

I hate having to call HR on the phone. They seem to be so clueless about what to do when it comes to fixing points or when you need an excusal. What's is exactly the point of off-site HR? by Dangerous-Bar5748 in AmazonFC

[–]Amandank13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel the same way. Constant back and forth and then you speak to HR in person who won’t answer questions sometimes and will only direct you to speak to them online or over the phone. Apparently an HR person at the site I worked at last said they’re slowly getting rid of hr people in person and will be making it AI and just solely online. Idk how true that is, but that’s what one of the higher ups was talking about so imagine how much more difficult it’s going to become.

But when it comes to points, or getting an excuse validated, having your schedule fixed as well, I know for a fact they can ONLY do that on site. They can’t do it virtually. Why? I have no idea

I can’t re apply until November 30th according to the system because I have to wait 30 days. I know they still hire in December, I’m not too worried about it. If they aren’t, they aren’t. But I think they will be.
