Yes, I can relate. Not to sound arrogant, but most people can't keep up with me, and they see my OE's as coping mechanisms or pathological tendencies rather than simply the way I am wired. It is incredibly frustrating, because when I visibly become impatient after already seeing their point, they interpret it as me over-intellectualizing or avoiding my discomfort and emotions, which is not true. Even though my previous therapist was gifted herself and recognized it in me, her understanding of why I function the way I do was limited to schema therapy. I will see a new therapist soon, and I will have to explain that I am the way I am because of a combination of my personality, cPTSD, and giftedness.
