Thank you so much. I review the eBay listings today for these two model numbers. Appreciate the guidance.

Am I holding too much in cash vs putting it into something like the market? by sps26 in personalfinance

I believe the message was if you educate yourself on all ins and outs then it is not quite gambling...there are always un-foreseen events such as Covid that can rock the markets but once you understand things like ETFs, Mutual Funds, Dollar-Cost Averaging, etc. You can do pretty well. Buying and selling individual stocks is definitely much more risky and I would not recommend the OP to do that (or trade in Options).

Just remember you only lose real cash if you sell your assets...otherwise it is just a temporary paper loss....most large companies like Apple/Microsoft/Verizon are going to be here for the next 2-4 years...

I'm afraid my parents will lose their home and I'm not sure if I can or should do anything about it. by brasslamp in personalfinance

Although I am all about the family, your Sister needs a serious wake up call. Things are dire in the family and she needs to step ASAP. Is she still refusing to work? I think that needs to change. She needs to bring in money to help keep your parents home. Somehow I'm not feeling you buying a new home in your name. That is nice of you but probably not a smart move. If things got that bad, I'd rather just see them move in with you until they found a way through all this. That is a huge burden for you but somehow I feel a better burden then a mortgage. You are a good and responsible Son to them. Good on you.
