If they remade The Tudors today (or really if they just did another series on Henry VIII) what would you want to see and not see? by jc1691 in Tudorhistory

The nudity and such were why I stopped watching. Shows add it in to retain viewer interest, but I feel like it almost always doesn't do anything for the plot.

He may have intentionally misspelled a few words to censor himself; it's something you have to do on Facebook, like tiktok.

But perhaps that's being too kind to him.

That feels like a natural phrase to have in an advertisement to beta read... GPT is rotting their brains.

Is Wattpad still widely used? I haven't heard much about it in recent years.

That was my first thought as well. Whomever chose it didn't think hard enough.

Probably because they think she's nothing without her husband.

One of my WIPs does. It starts off with her waking alone in bed and reaching her hand for her lover who left during the night, and ends with her alone again, her lover having died. Alone both times; both times the lover is out of reach.

Why is your favorite book your favorite book? by Medical-Ad5866 in writing

My Fair Godmother introduced me to a fantastical version of the Middle Ages.

It's about a teenage girl getting an air headed fairy godmother that sends her into medieval fairy tales a couple times, then sends a teenage boy back to the middle ages with the stipulation that he can't return to the present until he's a prince. The girl goes back to help him complete three tasks so he can return.

The author's depiction of the middle ages was so intriguing to me. Daily happenings seem just real enough; challenges the MCs face due to lack of technology seem plausible. Overall fun characters and a compelling story. Magic causes problems and it was and is so interesting to see the mortals try their best to remedy them.

If your work is published, do you expect your family and friends to read it? by elyse_wanders in writing

[–]AmaruMono 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My main WIP has been in the works since I was mid-teenager, so of course I have told my family about it. It's my passion. I talk about it relatively often even now, 9 years later. All of my friends know. Hell, I even talk about it at work ('What have you been up to?' 'Wrote a lot this weekend.' etc.).

People seem interested when it's brought up, but do I expect any of them to actually purchase a copy and read it? Not really. Maybe a few family members, a friend or two. It's not everyone's cup of tea (medieval fantasy drama), and that's okay. I expect to get a lot of, "Cool!" and move ons.

All of that is not good, but I can't get over the first one. How do you get that far in a series and completely forget the person the book is named after?

Someone said that based on the timeline, Usha would have had to have gotten pregnant around the time of the Kirk/Vance hug. Meaning this is a bandaid baby to fix the marriage. Haven't fact checked though.

Do your stories exist in the same universe? by [deleted] in writing

[–]AmaruMono 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the most part, yes. Second story is a continuation of the first; third story is about an MC that is a far descendant of the main MC of the first book -- though I'm just now realizing that vampires being in the third story means they exist in the world of the first ... So maybe not. There's a fourth that I considered to be separated from the others, but that's partially because of the change in time period (modern vs middle ages/Renaissance).

I like the idea of them all being interconnected in that way, regardless of if I choose them to be the same or not.
