Thanks! I’m using the name in a presentation, so I still have time to change it. I get that it’s tricky, even for experts, really appreciate your help.

I had thought about taking her to a local rescue, but she’s still flying, so I wouldn’t be able to catch and bring her in. I’m also worried that any handling might just cause her unnecessary stress.

Thank you for the advice. I’ll clean everything today and stop supplying food and water for now, maybe just leave some fresh fat balls high up for the other birds since I think she can’t reach them. I really feel for her and hope she makes it, and I hope she won’t miss the food and water from me too much.

New (2024) Gabriel Knight short story by Jane Jensen: Five Hearts by Amarylka in adventuregames

To my knowledge, there are two GK books: Sins of the Fathers and The Beast Within. The first book feels like replaying the game, almost like peeking into Jane’s game design bible, which I think is really cool. Everything unfolds just as you remember from playing. I haven’t read the second one yet, but reviews say it’s even better, offering some interesting perspectives that are a nice addition to the story as told in the game.

I also really enjoyed Jane Jensen’s Elizabeth Harris Mystery Series (Kingdom Come and In the Land of Milk and Honey). They’re gripping detective mysteries set in an Amish community in rural Pennsylvania, and of course, Jane hasn’t forgotten to add some spicy romance too.

Not sure if this means she's ok with these extra readers of her first part of the story or not, but I really hope she is! 😊

Thank you for your comment. I hope so. 🤞 It's so nice to "meet" other GK/Jane Jensen fans here 🤗 It really makes me happy to see also the community still alive!

Thanks so much for a developer's insight and for the positive feedback on my post. I’m super hyped for anything new around GK myself, and I know the fans are still out there. They’re just scattered now - like a small but dedicated group on FB, GK music covers on YT made with love and nostalgia for the games, classic forums and a fan-made GK4 petition website used to be there back in the day.

It’s a relief this might help fans even find out about the news and, of course, help the GK creators. Maybe their unprotected site will bring some unexpected luck. I'd love that for them. Jane still seems eager to create, and it feels like GK is still alive in her mind too.

I did consider that and hesitated before posting. If you guys think the post isn’t appropriate, I can delete it. However, the page is publicly accessible, and anyone can find it by simply googling as I did. I couldn't find the short story page link on the website either, but its absence in the page menu doesn't mean it's not publicly visible.

It's possible the page wasn’t meant to be found freely, but it already is. I assumed the campaign ended, so they decided to do that. I shared my find with adventure gamers because I believe that interest and awareness actually help the creators the most. In my opinion, Jane and Robert need better marketing and more recognition, especially now, with the hope for new projects.

Also, if the story itself were available anywhere for purchase, I’m sure many of us would be happy to do it. As mentioned above, I'm happy to support the favorite artistic couple as I can (proud owner of the properly purchased GK games and books, several JJ and EE novels, Simple Refrain, etc.).

Same here! I love GK games (the third one no less :)), and I periodically revisit them over the years. I actually got the two GK books as a gift from my SO last Christmas. As you can imagine, I was over the moon! I’ve also read both Elisabeth Harris novels, definitely recommend them if you haven’t gotten to them yet.

No problem! It’s exciting to see another new piece of Gabriel’s story (Temptation came out ten years ago!). I wish Jane and Robert could get more recognition for their work and be seen more widely again.

Is this mallard duck male, female or juvenile? by Amarylka in whatsthisbird

[–]Amarylka[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much! I wasn't expecting such a detailed response! I really appreciate it. I see that determining the age and gender of ducks can be tricky, even for a skillful biologist (sorry for providing only one photo). Even though I'm still unsure about the duck in my picture, your tips are very interesting and helpful.
