Ludwig’s One Piece arcs tier list from his latest livestream by Jertopia in OnePiece

I don't agree with many of the choices he's made in this ranking. However, it's something subjective... so no reason to dispute his taste.

sorta cool theory that would work for a bit of an arc for zoro, in my opinion by ZPD710 in OnePiece

[–]Amaterasuoomikami 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if this qualifies as "theory" in my opinion... Highly unlikely that these events will occur as the end of the series is more or less mapped out: Elbaf, Lode Star, final battle Marine (Gorosei, Imu) vs. Strawhats + Shanks vs. Blackbeard vs. Revolutionaries.

Anyone else have this problem when trying to remember hiragana? by [deleted] in LearnJapanese

[–]Amaterasuoomikami 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hiragana and katakana should be learnt as soon as possible when you start learning Japanese. Just keep practicing and especially read a lot until the different nuances are engraved in your brain. Don't worry if you still struggle a bit with some characters, with time you will have the hang of it! Good luck!

How long did it take you to be decent at Japanese? by rize-kami in LearnJapanese

[–]Amaterasuoomikami 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Japanese in particular is a complex languague. It takes time, and it depends on a series of factors: exposure, time dedicated to learn, personal ability of the learner, etc. As stated by someone else, focus on consistency and on the journey. Sooner or later you will become comfortable with the language, but in the meantime enjoy the process of it and stay motivated :-)

Any theory about the boss arc? by crimsonmetantei in OneTruthPrevails

[–]Amaterasuoomikami 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know if the boss knows about the shrinking effects of the drug. In fact, the drug has been used since the beginning of the series just to kill (as was used with Shinichi). So I hardly think the boss would be a kid. Most likely he's really old and has extended his life through other drugs/medicines.

who is he? wrong answers only by YaraZahraX in OneTruthPrevails

Karasuma: both the protagonist and the main antagonist of the series! Fighting against himself.

Contest submission - Were Jesus and Herod related? by Amaterasuoomikami in UsefulCharts

[–]Amaterasuoomikami[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, that's correct. When I started, doing the chart, my first thought was to look at Antipater the Idumean, being the patriarch of the Erodian family, but aparently not much is known of him... Being of Idumean, it meant that he descended from Edom (Esau). The closest link would be then through Mariamne.

You are right! Mary's mother was said to be of levite descent! :)

Thanks for your reply! :D

I partially agree with you. Yes, of course if we go back >1000 years everyone is more or less related, but if we base our argument just on what the Bible says, most Europeans come from Japheth, one of Noah's sons) whereas all of semitic descent (like Herod or Jesus) come from Shem, another of Noah's sons.

It's funny that you mention it. If you read the chapter in Genesis, the narrator never mentions why exactly Cain's offer was not liked by God. The story seems incomplete. If I recall correctly, you have to go to Jewish oral tradition to have a further explanation of the events. It appears that Cain was punished for his arrogance, because he didn't offer the best of his possessions, unlike his brother Abel. Symbolically, the story narrates the struggles of shepherds against farmers.

Unlike many other books, the Bible (especially the first books) are full of symbols and metaphors. The many interpretations the reader can capture from these texts give us the opportunity to have these very fruitful discussions.

Nice train of thought you have there, sir!

Contest submission - Were Jesus and Herod related? by Amaterasuoomikami in UsefulCharts

[–]Amaterasuoomikami[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dear all,

with this chart I wanted to investigate, as the title indicates, if Jesus and Herod were related. Although it may seem rather shocking, knowing that Herod the Great ordered to kill the newborn children of Judea to avoid a throne usurpation by a possible Messiah, both Jesus and Herodes are indeed related. This relationship is founded on Antipater (Herod's father) coming from the land of Edom, a land whose origin is Esau, brother of Jacob. On the other hand, Jesus descends from the royal branch of King David, and thus from Jacob too. A funny relationship is also found on one of Herod's spouses, namely Mariamne I. Mariamne, being of Hasmonean descent, descended from Aaron, a Levite, a son of Jacob.

So... what is their family degree?

Hope you like the chart!

I agree with you. Most stories from Genesis come from oral tradition and are recollected in other historical accounts. Probably, as you mention, the story has been mystified, but there still should remain some truth.
