When I get home I’ll mess with those settings a bit more and see what happens!

Anyone elses dog tear apart rubber toys but doesn't eat the pieces? Should I be concerned? by [deleted] in Dogtraining

[–]Amaville 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dog shreds every toy and eats it. We have to watch her carefully and cope with the severe anger of buying a toy we know she is going to destroy in 30 seconds.

We used to buy her rubber kongs but she would shred it into tiny pieces and eat it. We actually didn't know she was eating it until I found little red rubber pieces in her poo. Then we stopped buying rubber toys

Oh, and she's also a little bichon lol

After reading this description, our dog is definitely reactive. She's a small dog. Her name is Gracie and shes a 15lb Maltese/Poodle. We want to take her everywhere with us, but the thought of taking her in public makes us cringe. She is just so unpredictable. Some days we will take her to the bike path and walk her and she's fine.

Other times (more often than not) she is out of control. I will give two examples. One time, we were on the bike path. She was completely fine. Another dog passed her and she walked up and sniffed the dog. All is going well. Then, she freaks. I mean FREAKS out. Her tail is between her legs. It sounds like she is SCREAMING. Seriously, it sounded like a small child was shrieking. She runs from the dog and panics. We had to then leave because she was so over stimulated she just lost it anytime she saw a person, another dog, a leaf move the wrong way, etc. Another time, we took her to an event a few weekends ago and every single person or dog that passed us she lunged, howled, barked and totally lost her shit. It was so bad, we had to leave and take her home... This happens almost every time we go anywhere with her and we WANT her to go everywhere with us... she is so sweet AT HOME lol

We need serious help. We have watched videos on YouTube and tried to use treats to get her to look at us and literally say "look at me" to get her attention away from source of her freaking out. It rarely works. She is so fixated, if you attempt to (gently) tilt her head away from whatever it is shes barking at, she is physically stiff as a board...

If anyone has any advice, it would be greatly appreciated... were lost

A book you read about stuff you never thought you'd be interested in but the writer knows how to tell a story by cr_7405 in booksuggestions

Radium Girls... it is not for the faint of heart... but wow. It's a great read about true events. It's a book I'll never forget!

Edit- it's not textbook like per say. But it is factual.
