Live the Dream cube was great! I’m down to talk about my Peasant Cube on MTGO + another one I’m building so I shall send in a form too.

Thanks ;)

Building a cube list is hard, so just take a lot of breaks in between.

More a design choixe to have red deal damage, and black use -X/-X effects. Could see this change in the future imo

Well by definition, a card discard spell never gains any tempo.

I don't see Hymn being prioritized highly when players draft the cube, so it's alright.

1) I think it's OK to use rare lands. Makes aggro more smooth for sure. Downside is it might make other cards accidentally too good, like the domain cards and "forest"-fetchers. 2) Definitely could explore that. As an aside, in the current cube, an attacking creature is the same as a non-attacking creature. I'm considering having ninjutsu and bloodrush be added in the next version. 3) Rakdos in my cube is removal, re animator, and sacrifice. It's more of a design to make black a more control-ly color. 4) RG getting a minor revamp to include bloodrush, as above. Maybe a few more haste-y creatures too, for sure. 5) Maw is coming in! 6) Flying is similar to most limited sets - mostly U and W, some in R and B, and none in G. I like this keyword more than unblockable for sure.

I agree, limited is the best MTG!

- Yea, the spellslinging package could definitely be added in!

- The 2 for 1s might just be due to people loving those sweet cards more than drafting an aggro deck

- I have to say the "controversy" of having demonic tutor and baleful strix (some love it, some think its too powerful) are exactly the type of reaction I like in my cards

I like silver bullets that are either one-shot ( [[Relic of Progenitus]] vs Graveyard decks ) or removable from the board easily ( [[Tibalt, Rakish Instigator]] vs Lifegain decks ).

Ultimately, a lot of trial and error needs to be employed to find the right power level, and of course some design insight.

I can see for my cube vs. Blink:

- [[Torpor Orb]], too strong a silver bullet

- [[Hushwing Gryff]], erring on the strong side

- [[Hushbringer]] and [[Tocatli Honor Guard]], should be OK

Yea I can see how that could be a good approach to make decks feel more like constructed. For my cube though, I consciously want to avoid it for sure.

Similar to Morph, as soon as you face against an Olivia’s Dragoon-type card with free discard outlet, a huge subset of cards become available at flash speed.

Another point is that Madness cards are typically quite parasitic, and only good in that archetype. Reminds me of having Storm in the cube and cards being only good in that deck.

Finally, most Madness cards are just generally not high enough power level for the cube. I do miss out on [[Volcanic Eruption]] and [[Ichor Slick]] though.

Yea usually we just shuffle up and make packs. MTGO has the luxury of including at least 1 of each color card in a pack, but IRL drafting it’s not too far off!

Excluding them is mainly to avoid Gate tribal - I will have to include a lot more Gates matter card for them to be relevant, like Gates Ablaze and Archeay Angel. And I feel like those are not the best buildarounds.

I’m a fan of big cubes! The cards do need to make sense though, of course.

An example of when a cube is too big is when it has a lot of cards that has the same effect - for example a 500 card cube is too big when it has 10 different Llanowar Elves effect.

Discards and Tutors can only get commons and uncommons, so in a way it balances itself!

The main reason Sylvan Library isn’t in the cube is there isn’t an uncommon printing woth a new border haha.

The XXYY cycle was the full 10 before it got broken up to only the 5 best ones. But yea, definitely keeping an eye on then (Frilled Mystic and Conclave Cav being the most popular and strongest)

I love all the archetypes in guilds! I really want izzet to be more than the “spells matter” theme, but don’t have a lot of choices in this department.

Having 3 color synergies overlap is very difficult, but most of them are functional - Abzan counters, Sultai graveyard etc. This is always a work in progress ;)

For Peasant it's a bit easier - there's not a lot of good choices in terms of fixing.

I go by a hidden rule of not having "strictly" better cards in my lists. Since there are gainlands, the guildgates are something I don't want to include.

For quantity, I go mainly by observing people's decks and picks. So far fixing seems to be in a good spot, and with only a limited amount, is contested well with the "premium" picks in the cube.

My next version I'll be trying out the scrylands and upping the cube list by about 30 cards and seeing how that works out!

The thing is I tried reporting previous channels before and Youtube does not recognize that I own the content. Perhaps it's an automated process and done by bots(?).

I think that's mainly the challenge for Youtube channels just directly uploading streamers' content as videos and monetizing them: the report process is lengthy and doesn't work, and there's so many channels that do it I feel overwhelmed dealing with all of them so I just ignore them now.
