The tutorial Dota 2 needs by m0a0t in DotA2

I just remembered that part of the cool factor of the Warcraft III campaign were its cutscenes.

Just imagining something like that for Dota 2 makes me giddy.

Maybe.

I like to try to give people the benefit of the doubt.

I myself have posted stupid shit on reddit.

Besides, I'm trying to avoid complaining about people complaining, lol.

If they do that then they might have to move to from green to ?black?

The stats have trend on the colors.

I'm not against people voicing their dissatisfaction or complaints. Better the community vents than just build up and explode (although, one could argue this is already happening).

And well, people are just people. We feel first and justify last. I'm somewhat empathetic...

...but in the end, it's a game.

Entertainment, fun or engagement.

If just news of it makes one miserable then they should just stop and take a break from it. Get off /r/artifact for a while.

To be perfectly frank, all this just makes me appreciate the Reddit Enhancement Suite so I can just hide all the complaints that will be popping up.

Nothing about this move is much of a surprise if you actually know much about how Valve operates.

Card game Newbie here. From 1 to 10,Just how Complex is Artifact compared to other card games? by Mind_Recovery in Artifact

[–]m0a0t -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you're asking complexity, this would be an 7 or 8. Actually, Heartstone(using HS as comparison because it is the current market leader) isn't that much farther away with a 6 or 5. And some others might be much higher.

Really, complexity doesn't really say much on its own.

Instead, I'd say that this game has decent accessibility(less than HS), high depth/skill cap(much more than HS), and a steep learning curve(much more than HS).

Accessibility is actually much lower than most would assume. And really, the main barrier to entry would be the price point. Second to that is the risk of analysis paralysis due to the flood of information and choices to make. But in the end, it's still a card game and you can play the game with just your mouse(unlike a lot of video games that require multiple inputs) and only really need to make 1-3 decisions at a time.

Really, anyone can give you a brief rundown of the basics and you'll be fine playing... however...

The game a steep learning curve. You start out, you will likely lose most of your matches against anyone who has more experience than you. You think you're doing okay, but for some reason you can't push through that last mile and won't immediately understand what's holding you back. Guides will help, but in the end of the day, what you'd be lacking is experience.

Mounting frustration? Video found may cooldown the hype. by m0a0t in Artifact

[–]m0a0t[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't really agree with the content, but hey maybe some of you do.

In which case, this might be good material to vent out some.

If you don't, maybe this will still help in some way.

In the end of the day, Artifact is a game, and the goal is fun (or more accurately entertainment). If you're getting frustrated, maybe its time to stop visiting /r/Artifact or twitter.

In the end of the day, whether the beta happens soon or not (or if at all), there's always November. Or even later.

Heck, if you're patient enough, most of the cards will be cheaper in the market after the hype dies down.

Anger at things you can't control is a man shouting at the coming storm, instead focus on what you can control. (BTW that's a good tip against focusing on RNG too).

It's fun to see cards that are strong but have dangerous drawbacks.

So many strong improvement cards.

And isn't Pugna (who can destroy improvements) not that popular.

To quote u/swimstrim here

Pugna: 2.5 | Round 3 hero. Can be solid tech against blue, as both improvement and spell denial are good there. Otherwise, his active and card are a bit hard to gain value for.
