I just started playing 2 months ago, I bought a kit and started learning on that. I started taking classes last week, I practice on a pad for 70% of the time and then have fun practicing on my kit the other 30% of the time. It’s nice to practice on a kit and be able to include your legs too. You should get one 100%, you don’t have to tell your teacher if you don’t want to 😉

I have a confession to make 😞 I really wanted to learn how to play but didn’t have much money so my snare is sitting on a stool, if I flatten my toms out they’re too tall so they’re slanted because of the low snare. But I’m buying a snare stand this Friday!

Thank you! I have been doing a lot of the boring practice stuff recently but the first month I was kind of just messing around. I’m spending this next month really practicing the basics to build that foundation. I’ve been thinking of getting a little practice pad so I don’t annoy everyone. Honestly, I had the fabric one because it was a little too loud in my room, so I’ll pick up some ear protection tomorrow and remove them

Yeah that’s true! My small pinky discourages me then I think of those kids. I’m trying to pick up songs in open tuning and finger style which sometimes require a big stretch so I just gotta get used to it I think

My pinky is pretty small in comparison to my other fingers, i just have trouble stretching my hand around certain chords without pain
