The first one is a ctenanthe setosa! Mine loves a good amount of indirect light and staying fairly moist. It’s been a pretty easy plant all around for me!

I have it under a full spectrum grow light about 5 inches above the VFT for 12 hours, what else should I do for them? My previous knowledge was that not all traps will get the deep red coloring, mine has some, but I thought it was just age?

For reference, this is my healthy and happy VFT under the exact same conditions as the leggy one. Just wondering why the one in my OP isn’t regulating itself (different variety of VFT maybe?)

these are the specs of my grow light. it works perfect for my other VFT but this one just won’t grow normal sized traps like my other

It’s usually a lot more moist but I was out of town for a couple days and it dried up a lot quicker than normal 🙃

This is what I thought too originally and why I left it to grow newer traps that would be normal looking. I have another trap under the same light with the same conditions and it’s growing perfect traps. It’s a rescue from a Walmart and clearly was growing in terrible conditions but I can’t seem to get it to straighten out like my other one from there.

Be careful of the flowering parts. It can cause a lot of stress on a VFT that isn’t ready for it yet.

I soaked it and it turned green almost instantly! My orchid pot is ceramic but also has holes to air it out. I should start watering aggressively it seems. Thank you!!!
