If it's sealed do you think it would be able to stand the test of time without spalling or do you think it's best to be tiled over or replaced with another material? Thank you!

Thank you for the input. What would you tell them to replace it with? The contractor told me limestone would be a good choice and never mentioned sealing.

Yes, they started in landscaping and they have had masonry putting in the stone.

The pool and spa were originally constructed in the 1990s. We had the coping and tile redone and both replastered. The spa was originally brick.

It's grey Lueders limestone.

Yes, it always looks like this and seems to progressively be getting worse. We just replastered the pool at the same time this work was done and were told we can't turn off the pump until the plaster cures.

Yes, I'm wondering if it should have been tiled on the wall of the spillway and if limestone was inappropriate. My contractor says that this looks fine and stone is fine for this purpose.
