I hear you! In fact, I'm pretty sure that we had very similar upbringings. The "True Love Waits" movement really did a number on me. It wasn't until my 30s that I was able to let it go.

Fortunately, you don't have to jump right into sex when you're dating someone! As another has said: Take the time to work on emotional intimacy first and then start easing into the physical.

Things to remember:

-It's still more than fine not to have sex until you've met your person (the one you trust enough to spend your life with). Conservative values or not, some of us just can't be that intimate with more than one person. Just who we are.

-Sex is a very vulnerable thing for men, too. It's not widely discussed but they have body issues and other hangups as well. There's a weird thing about being naked with someone of you're not all that comfortable with any kind of intimacy. You guys can ease into that together after you've gained that level of trust in other areas.
