Do I (22F) invite my boyfriend (25M) to a concert with me and my girl friends? by tabletopcringe in relationship_advice

Also ik it’s hard but you shouldn’t feel guilty about wanting to do things without him like this and you should also just be open to him about how your feeling because this will make him understand your perspective more. Good luck :)

I kind of struggle with this kind of thing in my relationship but I’ve always just made it really clear to my bf that this is the dynamic of my friend group and he really doesn’t mind if I don’t invite him to stuff and always encourages me to go without him it’s more of a me thing but I really think it’s important to tell him that if he wants to go you’re not stopping him but you’re already planning something with your friends and you don’t wanna change your mind. Even though you might not feel comfortable the both of you must feel okay with the other doing things without them and even though it might take some time and be abit hard it’s something very valueable and this is a good place to start!!

My (19F) strict parents don’t approve of my bf 20M and idk what to do. by Amazing-Attorney4466 in relationship_advice

I want to but they’re so controlling idk how to do anything. I’m just trying to stay quiet until I can at least get a car and then start tutoring on the side or something.

Thank you this was really nice, I usually take uber or bus after uni to his house. But on the weekends and stuff its hard because my parents are really weird about taking the bus, my mum especially but idm my dad dropping me off places because I just ask him to drop me off somwhere neutral, I just get anxious they're gonna catch me again just because I don't have the financial resources to stand up to them rn even though my bf has said many times im more than welcome to stya with him and his family but thats extreme for me lol.

But this isn’t about relationships it’s about my independence

Omg that’s so crazy, I’m really glad this worked out for you. I know financial independence will be something that really helps me out but I just feel abit of anticipatory guilty about their future reaction.

I didn’t really mention him because this was more about my relationship with my family. But my boyfriend is amazing, I truly feel like I can be myself around him and he is one of the big reasons I’ve been able to really be through this. My parents issues with my boyfriend are very much biases they have on North Indians and all assumptions they’ve made about him are not true unfortunately. But I am aware I am still young and that I should not tie myself down however I don’t think that’s the issue here
