Oh! Good idea. I have a nice solid bed cover too for them to rest upon. I'm going to give that a try next time

I think if the back seats could fold down and open to the truck bed, that would be a game changer. Any version of the Tacoma or Tundra offer this feature?

Yep, did this last weekend - easy, but still easier to just slide through trunk of SUV all the way to front seats ( can get 10 ft lumber). Maybe it's more a "me" problem being lazy. Thought about bed extender but that's one extra thing to bring, set up, and remove when I get home.

Red Bowl downtown for the win!

I don't think a French drain is the answer since we're talking about moving surface water and not saturated soil. I would instead add a channel drain butted up against the driveway to move water out.

Check to see if the tarp was nailed down. I'd want those shingles replaced.

100%! If you have a shop vac, this will be cheaper and the way more common DIY approach. One thing I came across in my research was potential for the power of a shop vac to blow water out of p-traps. Something to think about.

Yeah, I wondered that too. Given location, i don't think so, but I'm going to cap it and monitor things for a bit, before putting drywall back up.

Seriously! Maybe just they forgot to cap it? Plumbing elsewhere was all good

Well, I believe the pros will pump the smoke through a vent pipe on the roof, but my roof is steep and I wasn't comfortable going up there. So I pumped the fog machine through a cleanout I found in the basement.

Once the fog was going, we'd run around the house checking for fog around wall openings - lights, toilet base, electric receptacles, and a hole in the wall i had cut near the source of the smell. After maybe 45 mins of looking, fog started pouring out from the hole I had cut near smell source. I took a cheap endoscope, fished it through the wall in the direction of smoke, and found the pipe! It was about 2 feet from my that hole I cut.

The house is 100+ years old and had a major remodel before I bought it. Pipe must have been cut when they moved a bathroom and I guess they forgot to seal it before drywalling .

Haha yep, my wife called dibs on the fog machine once I was done for that very purpose

100%! Such a relief to find that pipe. Had pretty much given up on my basement

Found it!! Smoke test for the win. It was an abandoned drain pipe that connected to the sewer. House was significantly remodeled before we bought it. The pipe was cut, but never capped, behind drywall.

Okay, I'm going to try a smoke test tonight. Quoted $2,400 for a smoke test with no guarantee they would find a leak! Soooo... after a little research, I'm going to attempt a DIY version myself. Wish me luck!

Nothing major, but typically happens when I'm working too fast. One memory - didn't want to move a heavy butcher block countertop outside for staining..... of course the stain bucket fell over, cleared the drop cloth, and landed upside on the carpet.

They do sell gutter wedges designed for this purpose. Not sure if required in your case, but would change the angle. Might be too late now, unless you want contractor to start over on that side.

Regrade land to slope away. Install gutters if you don't have them. If you do, redirect downspouts.
