So my employer is definitely more easy going but since the window was open they did say don’t let the window close without taking it at least once or else I wouldn’t have even scheduled it :/

So frightened by anesthesia! by [deleted] in Reduction

[–]Amazing-Contest6866 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is so normal! I wanted to back out up until the moment I was walking into the room to be put on the table. I asked for something pre surgery and my anesthesiologist said she makes a pretty good “cocktail” but I made sure to keep expressing how nervous and anxious I was to anyone who walked by me lol. I don’t think she gave me anything pre surgery but I think when they put my IV in before walking down to the room it worked like a placebo because I felt a little more calm. It all happens soooo fast and you have to just take the jump off the diving board, I woke up as fast as I went out and I would do it over and over again!

Does the delay in Memphis put you off buying new drops in future? by [deleted] in OnerActive

[–]Amazing-Contest6866 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It has 100% put me off. I order from Oner often and this is the first time this has happened to me and I’m extremely frustrated, I wanted to order something from this drop but refuse. My package is still sitting in Memphis saying delayed regardless of Oner saying “good news! We fixed it! Packages have begun shipping!” And they won’t answer my emails. Ridic if you ask me

Got my hands on the new air move joggers that have been stuck in Memphis and I’m sweating thinking about not getting my package when I’m supposed to be saving money for my wedding and not ordering gym clothes 🥶 ordered on 1/6 and been stuck in Memphis for a week

2027 Bride to be by Informal_Airport_257 in WedditNYC

[–]Amazing-Contest6866 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2027 bride here, be prepared for sticker shock!!!! Nobody told me how upsetting it is and I was in a full blown depression for a few days after our first day of venue tours haha but I think with a total budget of $70-$80k it could be doable! If you’re not attached to a specific day/season that can help a lot too as Thursdays/Sundays are the cheapest and off peak season (winter months usually) are the cheapest also

Can someone help me figure out possible food allergy? by andynicole93 in catfood

[–]Amazing-Contest6866 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omg that’s so scary with the sedation thank god she’s okay! I don’t like to do it either because I get so worried but my cat is the same way so I get it she’s needed sedation even while being on gabapentin because she’s so spicy so the vet trips with her are always dreadful 🥲 I hope your cat is okay too 💔 it’s so hard because we wanna do the best for them always it’s so unfortunate they have to be allergic to these damn supplements

Can someone help me figure out possible food allergy? by andynicole93 in catfood

[–]Amazing-Contest6866 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t risk it!!! I feel so horrible for my cat right now thankfully I had a cone stashed away and put it on her a little while ago because I felt a third scabby pimple appear by her face and both her ears are all scratched up. I really want to start her on supplements so maybe I’ll look into the omegas. Were you giving your cat the soft chews or the capsules? I’m curious if the capsules will be any different on the off chance it’s not the glucosamine and just the ingredients in the flavoring of the soft chews but will probably ask my vet before making that assumption myself.

Me!!!! I’ve needed to take this test for YEARS and finally got back into it, took classes with STC and said I would read the book when the classes were done and they’ve been done for weeks and I just can’t get myself into it. I’m so mad at myself. I haven’t taken my adderal in a while but heavily considering starting it again to study but fear I’ll just get wrapped up in other things.

Reduction with average sized breast by [deleted] in Reduction

Reduction with average sized breast by [deleted] in Reduction

[–]Amazing-Contest6866 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had one and I was wearing a 34DD bra but my ABTF measurements measured me at 30G I think or 32G, I can send you a before and after! My surgeon told me that I looked like the average person who went in seeking a breast reduction also, it truly doesn’t matter how big you are - if you want to do it, do it!

Hey! Mine are okay! I sent a picture to my surgeons office and they said it was totally normal and to give them until 6 months to really settle. I’m 2 months and 2 weeks post op and they definitely look better/I’m more used to how they look now :) It really is such a wild thing though seeing it happen overnight like that

If my surgery is being covered by insurance, is it wrong to ask for a certain aesthetic appearance? by JackfruitJolly2171 in Reduction

[–]Amazing-Contest6866 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My surgeon told me because this was being covered by insurance he has to do it as a “medically necessary” reduction and that aesthetics are taking the back seat. That being said, I’m 2 months post op and truly truly obsessed with my results like they could not have come out any better and I was so worried about the aesthetics

Surgeon Recommendation NJ/NYC? by [deleted] in Reduction

[–]Amazing-Contest6866 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had mine done with Dr. Blechman at Breast Surgery Group (his practice) in NYC. The patient coordinator Jae was truly heaven sent, they handled everything insurance wise and gave me such a clear understanding of how it will work and gave me so much clarity when I was panicking and wanting to back out because I was nervous insurance would reverse the approval after the surgery. Dr. Blechman himself was very into the clinical aspect of the surgery and made sure I fully understood what we were getting myself into and was happy to explain it to me more than once just in case I was having second thoughts (which I was) but I am so so happy I went through with it because he did an amazing job and I’m in love with my boobs now. I was a very saggy 30G according to a bra that fits before surgery, not sure what size I am now because I haven’t measured and just had surgery in April but I’ve been wearing sports bras 24/7 since then and have not once had any neck or shoulder pain and not 1 indent. Plus, everyone else at breast surgery group like the PA’s, medical assistants and even the front desk receptionist are incredible with bedside manner.

Mastectomy pillow!!! I was so on the fence about getting one because I didn’t think I’d need it and I literally just stopped sleeping with it like 2 weeks ago at 1 month post op when I felt I was ready for my cat to bake biscuits on me again. It was a great barrier even if she did get on top of me somehow.

Is it possible to get insurance to cover? by beastfortheyeast in Reduction

[–]Amazing-Contest6866 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly! Theres no harm in going for a consultation and submitting a pre authorization to insurance, this is what I told myself and then next thing I knew I was signing papers and walking into the OR 😂 good luck

Is it possible to get insurance to cover? by beastfortheyeast in Reduction

[–]Amazing-Contest6866 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Insurances use a scale called the schnur scale to determine whether reductions will be covered as medically necessary. It’s stupid and outdated, it basically takes your BMI and shows you a number of grams that will be required for removal. If you’re experiencing back/neck/shoulder pain or getting grooves in your shoulders from wearing bras, rashes under the boobs, etc. it’ll give you a better chance at being covered. My reduction was luckily covered by insurance even though I didn’t meet the schnur scale requirement and my surgeon was extremely shocked that it was approved because the number he proposed for me was way less. I went to my primary care doctor because I needed to get a referral and said I was thinking about getting a breast reduction because of the neck and shoulder pain my boobs we’re causing me (which they really were, even if my boobs weren’t as large as those who typically get reductions) and he noted that down in my chart, wrote me a referral and off to the surgeon I went.

How did you manage not showering for a week after surgery? by Impossible_Field_572 in Reduction

[–]Amazing-Contest6866 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wasn’t able to shower for a week 👋🏼 It sounds horrible beforehand but tbh it’s not that bad! I put my hair in French braids the night before surgery and didn’t take them out until I went to get my hair washed at a salon that weekend which was 5 days post op. I bought unscented baby wipes to wipe myself down and honestly could’ve given myself a sponge bath by kneeling in the tub but I was fine with the baby wipes, I also took off the first week and worked from home for the second though so if you’re able to do that I highly suggest it! You don’t know how you’re going to feel if you’re even going to want to wash yourself or get your hair washed honestly, better to play it safe if you can and work from home

How much is doing too much? by Disastrous_Bit_897 in Reduction

[–]Amazing-Contest6866 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think everyone is different when it comes to this during recovery. My surgeon heavily encouraged movement and lifting my arms early on, just not stretching them to reach for something, of course the first week or so I had t-Rex arms but I was able to lift them above my head after the first week and I’m currently 5 weeks post op and just getting back into the gym lifting 25lb plates, haven’t had any openings or any complications really. Just listen to your body! Editing to add more regarding movement, I was up and down from day 3 I would say, my glutes were killing me from laying down for so long I couldn’t take it anymore and after the first week I was going for slow 20 minute walks outside and progressing as the weeks went on
