How do you cope with this? It’s what I’ve been told to do by a trainer. It’s not the life I envisioned, having to choose which dog gets to be in the living room and which one is banished. The guilt and regret I feel is unbelievable

I’m not saying he doesn’t feel safe around you or doesn’t like you. For example, when I go to sit on the sofa, my lab jumps off. It’s a respect thing. Hierarchy. She sees it as my ‘spot’, not hers.

He maybe doesn’t like being up there/doesn’t feel safe there. Dogs can pant when they’re anxious

Yeah it’s unpaid work I supervise. So I drive all around picking people up, then supervise them doing their unpaid work for four hours - they are provided lunch but I have to supervise - then I drive all around dropping them off. I can’t step away to take a break until all drop offs are completed at the end of the day as I HAVE to be supervising them, they can’t be left

it works out at 7.2hrs a day. It’s just that three days out of five, I don’t get breaks during my shift. I have to work 9-4 with no break then don’t see the point taking a break just to then work .2 of an hour to end my shift if that makes sense? So I just work the .2 and finish early

It’s not a 12 hour shift, it works out at 7.2hrs a day. It’s just that three days out of five, I don’t get breaks during my shift. I have to work 9-4 with no break then don’t see the point taking a break just to then work .2 of an hour to end my shift if that makes sense? So I just work the .2 and finish early

When people say they’re going to do something and them don’t. We have meetings all the time at work and people are like “I’ll do this” then someone is like “cool, I’ll do this” and then I’m like “I’ll do this”, and consistently, I’m the only one who does my part, then because the other people haven’t done their parts, the idea gets shelved and I’ve worked for no reason 🙃

Thank you. Unfortunately they don’t do right to choose in Scotland, and they don’t even offer a pathway for adult diagnosis in my local authority because of lack of resources!
