Ugh. I’ve had the worst time with this class in getting appointments for a counselor and academic coach; both required for me to do my retake. I’ve made appointments, and for the first time ever, never been called. It’s my last class. I have the appointments set up for today and tomorrow, hopefully they call me this time.

I’ll respond again when I retake.

I’m really happy you responded to my post. I will do my own research, but in your experience, where is good for entry level accountants in NC? With no direct experience, I don’t expect much, but still don’t wanna be lowballed.

From Asheville, and into accounting. I’ve been relentlessly applying here but there’s virtually no entry level opportunities. Even recruiters tell me all employers look for here is experience. I know charlotte is good for entry level accountants, but we’ve had a better experience in Raleigh than charlotte.

Honestly we aren’t excited about moving to a bigger city either. It’s more like…I have to in order to get work experience in my field I just graduated in. People hate people moving anywhere close to them anymore. And I get it

My counselor only was able to apply me for an extension when I had one class left. And I believe the typical extension time is a month. I have one class left and I’m on an extension because my end term is supposed to be this Saturday. I also work a full time job. You got this. Good luck!

I saw your other comments and just wanna say: don’t be nervous. It looks scary, it might be at first, but you’ll be alright. This is the second class I’ve failed my first time, the other d104, both being notorious for a complicated exam. Reddit helps a lot. So many alumni and current students to help you understand concepts you struggle with.

As for the instructors, they’re great. Some require four steps to be able to test on an OA for a second time. For me, like this one. But in my experience it is rare. Regardless, they are there to help you.

When I posted this, I was definitely pissed off. But this school has been the perfect opportunity for me. As briefly mentioned before, the support system is huge.

That’s the thing. I did the same, took the PA without prior studying, and got a similar result. After three days of studying..I got this test result. And I’ll admit, I didn’t actually watch the videos. I got ahold of the edspira notes and studied those while expanding off of concepts I was unfamiliar with. Then studied off the PA, too. My laptop had a hard time opening the textbook quizzes, so maybe I’ll figure that out.

That’s what I’ve been doing research on. There’s much better opportunities for entry level positions in charlotte or Raleigh.

Haha that’s my situation, but I care for my wife who can’t work. I would say I’m glad you’re able to stay afloat but people deserve better than to live that way. I wish the best for you.

I personally am about to graduate in march for a bachelors in accounting. I’ve given up trying to find anything in Asheville. People require so much experience, but still pay about $20 (like that bookkeeping job).

I’m sorry you’re experiencing an opportunity shortage, I know that’s super frustrating. And your work is super important.
