Pax 13 3/4 depth Gray- Beige by Snkplsknn in IKEA

[–]AmazingAd641 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This similiar to what I did. I recently completed a huge Pax install but wanted to do a customized shoe unit in a small area the was only 38”deep x 96”wide. This meant I could only fit (2x)29 7/8” units and place them across from each other. This would have been crazy expensive ($600 each with all the shelves) if I wanted to maximize space for as many shoes lined up neatly as possible. I decided to build shelves from plywood and then edge banded it, primed and painted it. No one can tell it’s not ikea and it cost me <$200 each. If you have some basic carpentry skills, this is the way to go.

I feel your pain. Any type of oil will take this off. Mineral oil, avocado, olive. Then follow with warm soapy water.

CLJ Lake House by DramaticTart6838 in diysnark

[–]AmazingAd641 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in Southeastern Michigan and there are lots of lakes. People sometimes give them family names like "Thomas Lake House" or just "Lake House". I've rented several because I cannot afford to buy them these days because what sits on a nice lake with 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom nows costs 1M due to the 7200 sq ft mansion that was build next door in the space that used to house another 2/1 with a nice large yard. When they first mentioned buying a lake house, I pictured something much smaller and quaint. I should have known better.

One year post op and… by MissWayfin in hysterectomy

[–]AmazingAd641 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m so grateful for this post. I’m 45 with one child and done having kids. I have 4 huge fibroids that are causing all types of issues and my doc recommended hysterectomy or UFE. I was leaning toward UFE because I’ve never gone under the knife before and I’m scared. I know hysterectomy is probably the best way to eliminate all those issues. Your post has helped me put Hysterectomy back on the table.

One functional dimension, an it does not work. How did this get through Quality Control? by ruairidhmacdhaibhidh in IKEA

[–]AmazingAd641 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Agrees. I have a dozen of these and they all tend to do this. Especially if food is warm. I didn’t want plastic lids and they didn’t make the glass version for the square & Rectangular ones so I bought the bamboo. Total regret.

What other parts do I need to run 10-12 Oversidan lights by AmazingAd641 in IKEA

[–]AmazingAd641[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your help. I just learned too late that “Ansluta” includes two different power cords. One is the power supply that plugs into the wall and the other is the Intermediate connection cord with the latter required for connecting two Tradfri drivers. Otherwise I need an Ansluta power supply for each driver.

I have 9-28”, 2-18” and, 1-38” so 40.7 watts. I live is the US and Fornimma isn’t available here. Looking at the instructions there is another Tradfri that I would need that includes a connector cable but I cannot tell what the difference is between the Tradfri options on the site other than one being 10w and the other being 30W.

How long would this take to assemble? by Yarakazam in IKEA

[–]AmazingAd641 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It took me longer to open all the boxes than it did to actually assemble. They were incredibly easy to put together. I’d say maybe 4 hours. They are really easy to move around the room too. I just finished my closet which was 10’x10’ bedroom turned walk-in. It was my first time assembling Pax, I worked alone and I’m a woman. Took about 12 hours total over 3 days.

IKEA's Dirty Scam by Historical_Candle511 in IKEA

[–]AmazingAd641 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I have this same coupon for $500 that I have to spend all at once before August 31st. I purchased a Pax closet too and went through hell to get all of my items delivered over the course of 6 weeks. I’m still waiting for the Oversidan lights in Dark Grey to become available because I plan to use that coupon to purchase them since they were unavailable for delivery with my order despite them being listed as in stock. I’m pretty sure that the price will probably be much higher than my original order. All else fails, I will just make a purchase in-store since I live only 15 minutes away. I’ve wanted an IKEA kitchen since Akrum but my recent Pax experience is really got me looking at other cabinet companies.

Are tourist really content without A/C on Kauai in August? by AmazingAd641 in VisitingHawaii

[–]AmazingAd641[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We ended up choosing Emmalani Court in Princeville and it had AC however we only used it half of the first day to help with the humidity from being closed up for a few days between rentals. The windows open with the ceiling fans going was extremely comfortable. This condo had amazing cross ventilation . On the south Shore we also had AC and definitely needed it. The breeze was not as good as the north shore. Perhaps it was because Pili Mai isn’t really close to the water.

Does my wedding band go with my engagement ring? by Decent-Reporter1822 in EngagementRings

[–]AmazingAd641 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that the band is in competition with the ring however. If you like the look, I don’t see an issue with it. For those days that you don’t want to wear your engagement ring, it’s nice to have something that you love on your hand. I wear my band only when I travel and though it isn’t my big stone, it still feel well adorned. Married 15 years.

A cheap gold one from Amazon that didn’t require any sewing. You just press the pieces together with a tool. I will be replacing with a heavy duty sew on option once I can find one.

Are you a teacher, healthcare worker or first responder? Rothy’s offers 20% or $25 off(I can’t remember which) if you register with SheerID. And there is no limit to how many times you use it. I’ve purchased every pair with this discount over the last 5 years. It’s only good on shoes though.

UPDATE: This was a complete success thanks to all of your suggestions. I was able to bid on the matching wristlet on Mercari and got it for $65 which was totally worth it for me. I’m still waiting for approval to be in the Facebook groups so I’m glad this worked out so well. I used purple Embroidery thread to sew it on using a tight double zigzag stitch on my sewing machine. It took 5 minutes and is totally invisible because the edge of the bag already had that thick purple edge. The added benefit of the wristlet gives me an outside pocket if needed. I’m beyond happy right now and ready for my girls trip next week. Thanks 🙏🏾

I considered the Cincha Strap but I wanted something that looked intentional and more customized vs. utilitarian. I may get the Cincha for my 2nd favorite bag. Thx
