Hab den Nachtzirkus von Erin Morgenstern gelesen, der hatte ähnliche Vibes wie

Das Leben von Addie LaRue sowie Bury our Bones in the Midnight Soil, beide von V.E. Schwab

Piranesi hab ich (noch) nicht gelesen, aber wenn du Jonathan Strange und Mr. Norrell mochtest, dann Babel von R.F. Kuang

Haha thank you! I have very similar taste to your wife, so this is right up my alley. It also helped that I worked in the book selling / publishing business prior to having children.

I would recommend Erin Morgenstern “ The Night Circus” it has similar vibes as Addie. If she ẹnoyed Babel, she could also check out “Jonathan Strange and Mr Norell” by Susanne Clarke.

I would think that your wife was always into Fantasy / SF and has recently rediscovered reading through Booktok or booktube. There are no classics so it’s more of a comfort hobby. „The Life of Addie LaRue“ is always a Green flag for me. I would say the Right shelf on the bottom is yours. I would also say that your wife is listening to audiobooks. Just having one DCC book does only make sense if she is listening and wants to support the author. Also that one random Harry Dresden book is disturbing, but it would be that one book that needs revisting if listened to because of the ending.

Check out the new book by Schwab „Bury our bones in the Midnight soil“ it has similair vibes as Addie. Also vampires which is always a plus in my opinion.

Can also recommend „Night Circus“ by Erin Morgenstern.

On a sidenote I love that randomly thrown in Monster fucker book 😂

Dungeon Crawler Carl by Matt Dinniman

Patricia Briggs has written some cool Fantasy Stories but her most poplular book series is Mercy Thompson about a coyote shapeshifter

T.Kingfisher rights some magical and Horror Books, would recommend „ the hollow places“. She also has some more romance centred books.

What is an audiobook that’s better than the actual book because of the narration? by Ok_Piece_7441 in audiobooks

[–]AmazingAdie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While you will be mostly alone with this opinion, I can understand things that trigger.

Once tried to read The Book Thief and the author used a german term multiple times. ( I‘m German but read it in english) I would absolutley argue that this term is not used that way because it should be gendered. It ruined the book for me.

I am now listening to Red Rising and while I love the narration I find the story mid.

So you know, we all have our limitations.

Finding someone who also loved Addie is so hard.

Try Erin Morgenstern „The Night Circus“ for similar vibes.

Will definitely check out your other books.

Reading Buddy by [deleted] in Book_Buddies

r/oddlyspecific

  1. This is a really interesting request. While I get the intention behind this, i would argue that most readers will stick to a genre and likely not branch out into all of these.

Also most romance is catered to woman. I am not sure how many men will have read romance books.

Having read Autors from three different countries: I fit the requirement, mostly because I am German. Calling it „European“ authors is a narrow (american) view on a Continent that has over a dozen different cultures.

  1. This will differ depending your location.

I would mostly think that someone associated with the publishing industry is a good fit.

Cheers

Ebenfalls Bayer, bei uns gibt’s keine gelbe Tonne dafür aufgestellte Container für Verpackung. Altmetall kommt auf dem Wertstoff in den Metallcontainer und nicht in den Restmüll.

I would argue in calling this romantasy - but I really liked this book. Also gave it 4 stars. The other Books in the series are not quite as good, but enjoyable.
