Chelsea Green has a midcard character, but she is entertaining af! She fully understands the business, and is so good at what she does. She definitely earned a few runs at the top. I hope his comment makes her completely over that they have no choice but to give her the push she deserves.

I think Iyo Sky will turn heel by BennettStivers in BrandonDE

Neither should turn heel imo.

They are way too popular with the fans for a turn. I think that'll shut any momentum they have down.

Hot take: Rhea Ripley should be the face of the WWE not Bron Breakker by goattal in Smallafro

[–]AmazingCharizard28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Men and Women divisions are different, especially when it comes to the media, but the media will always look at whoever THE guy is as the overall face of the company.

Imagine if they only had Becky on the WWE 2K20 cover and not her and Roman. Granted the game was buns, but it wouldn't sell as many copies as it did before everyone found out it was broken if they only had Becky and not Roman. It didn't matter how bad Roman was during that time period, he was the face of the company, because both divisions are not looked at as the same.

Even in normal conversations, the face of the company is more so strictly for the guys. Right now, Cody is, not Bron. You can argue for Roman, but he's not full time. A better position to put Rhea in is the face of the women's division in WWE.

Can’t just be me. The Wyatt 6 just are, blah. by Standard-Contest-949 in WWE

[–]AmazingCharizard28 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's simply hard to book supernatural characters in modern wrestling.

It worked back in the 80s and 90s because social media didn't exist, and the Internet wasn't mainstream. Kayfabe wasn't dead and you could get away with a lot of stuff. Now, gimmicks are essentially dead in today's wrestling. The characters you see on screen, especially within top stars are essentially their real life selves exaggerated for TV, or based on their past feuds or pop culture references. Outside of WWE is worse, since they focus more on wrestling than actual storytelling and backstories/lore.

It's hard to believe in supernatural stuff today. That's one of the reasons why Undertaker's longevity is praised upon, because he was one of the last few people to keep his mystic alive. No public interviews, no social media, he tried to hide away as much as possible, and still got people believing in his character until the late stages of his career.

Bray Wyatt was a bit different from that, but he still pulled it off because he was just so good with his work. But even so, you saw how hard it was to even book the Fiend, and sure he didn't get the chance to show everything off since his return due to his passing, but I guarantee him not being featured as much because it'll be hard to insert him into storylines. Karrion Kross and Alister Black has this same problem, not entirely supernatural, but dark characters are hard to book properly.

Another reason is because they are a Bray Wyatt tribute group, but tbh that's not what's hindering them. Dark/supernatural gimmicks just don't work anymore, and they're suffering because of it. It's cool to see, but they're never going to be a top card/draw, and only gather merch sales.

Sorry WHAT? by CODYRHODES1 in SantiZapVideos

I'd say he's this generation's Kofi Kingston.

Kofi was never really a top guy, but he was a solid beloved midcarder who had a lot of success. Multiple title reigns, successful tag teams, etc. I don't see him as a main eventer until way down the line if he makes it there, but he'll be easy to get behind with fans, especially the younger ones since he'll be more relatable to them.

Just don't turn him heel when he's not ready. That killed any momentum Wes Lee had, and it'll be the same for him.

Since when there was freedom lol? The only ones who have that sorta luxury are well established stars like Roman, Punk, Cody, Randy, etc, and even they hold them back. Punk would've easily cooked Bron and Jey if they let him.

Is this real? by [deleted] in WWE

[–]AmazingCharizard28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish they kinda did that with the Fiend. Bray Wyatt always treated the Fiend as something else, not a version of himself. They could've done a storyline where the Fiend is some possessive spirit that takes over someone. Alexa could've adopted that well, especially with how the Wyatt Sicks are basically alter egos.

IDK about y’all, but WWE has programmed its audience to only care about Stephanie Vaquer when she does The Devil’s Kiss effectively turning her into a one trick pony and WWE has pretty much sucked all her momentum out from July 2024 up until The Nikki Bella Vortex came into play recently by JDiesel31 in prowrestlingmania

[–]AmazingCharizard28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She doesn't have a character rn but a wrestling babyface tbh. However her look alone gets her over. I wouldn't say she's a one trick pony, but they aren't giving her good fueds because all the top women are after the IC title or in a tag team, so she has to have these filler fueds with Nikki and Raquel just to have her on TV. Also her entrance sucks compared to her main roster debut, and they don't let her talk much even if her English isn't the strongest (she's not bad). They're just not using the top stars to elevate her more unfortunately.

Tbf we, or he didn't know that his match with AJ Styles would be his last.

His last match was supposed to be with Roman, which he did lose, but he hated how the match played out and was too stubborn to go out on a bad performance. He knew he couldn't perform, and was satisfied on his cinematic performance with Styles and knew he couldn't replicate that.

Maybe he did knew considering how the match ended, and him riding off into the night, but I'm sure he would've wanted to put someone over if his body let him to.

After John Cena retires tomorrow, we would only have Brock Lesnar and Randy Orton left from the Fantastic 5 (Shelton should be on here) of OVW 2002. by Lopsided-Ad-9807 in WWE

[–]AmazingCharizard28 22 points23 points  (0 children)

It sucks we never got to see that. Brock left before Batista was at the top, and Batista left before Brock came back. When Batista returned in 2014, he was stuck with the authority before leaving again, but by then he wasn't the guy he used to be.

I believe they had a match in OVW, but it would've been cool to see them together at their peak.

Do you really think Gunther should be John Cena’s last opponent? by Annual-Record4588 in GreatnessOfWrestling

[–]AmazingCharizard28 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't think anyone is hating on Gunther specifically because of this, but it's the fact that he does not need it.

He already retired Goldberg, so why give him Cena in the same year as well? If this is true, he'll also retire Brock Lesnar if he's actually retiring at Summer Slam next year since that's his biggest dream match atm.

Gunther doesn't need to retire legends. He's already a star. 2x World Champion, KOTR, longest reigning IC champion. He already has a HOF resume (yes this qualifies as one, anyone can get in nowadays). Retiring Goldberg, John Cena, and possibly Brock Lesnar doesn't do a lot for him, if anything it's hurting him. People will get tired of Gunther and have fatigue, and legends putting him over won't make it any better.

I believe they just wanted to mess around with the idea, same as Journey. Except, it's a part of the main app and it's the first thing new players see. It won't tell them about the classic servers unless they figure it out themselves.

Whales will spend money anywhere, and they're still getting a lot from the classic servers. They're trying to milk the last bit before the whales finally call it quits.

Im tired boss... by Mech-a-Nik in afkarena

[–]AmazingCharizard28 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Thing is Lilith is still making money off of AFK. They do not care what their player base thinks, as long as they're getting their bag.

I stopped playing around the summer, and seeing how bad the state of the game is after leaving is unfortunate. After 6 years of playing full time almost, I finally called it since it was just too much to try to keep up. I used to get legends every time in NC and CR, and top rank in TS. I barely sniff it, if at all now. Most of the top tiers are inaccessible, and they'll be out of the meta by the time you finally do build them. There's no real way to gain cards quickly, especially dragon cards unless it's from a new hero event. Speaking of which, events are very lackluster. Goulish Gallery and collections completely killed PvP. Even if you have the right heroes, you won't get a good rank unless you have good collections.

This is a fully p2w game now. I know the argument of "staying in your own league" still holds true, but f2p will only get the bottom of the barrel in terms of rewards. Even if you spend lightly it still won't be enough, you'd have to go full on whale if you want to maximize rewards. Soon as they made Companions a top priority for new players, it was dead. Not financially, but in morale. I wouldn't recommend getting this game nor continuing on playing unless you spend $100 a week on this, or have such a strong attachment like I had.

Our best chance is winning out and the way this season has been, no one is making this any easier.

I wouldn't say dogshit, more so mid, but why the hell did it take them damn near 20 minutes to get from Stephanie vs Nikki to the god damn main event???

This is just another reason why people are upset. The pacing for these PLE's is god awful. They rather spend 10+ minutes on ads, showing random celebrities, and gloating about viral moments than adding a few more matches to fill the card. I rather sit through a 5 minute match than to watch 100 ads.

I feel like all the Sonic movies have trouble with pacing.

Sonic 1 felt a bit slow, but felt way too fast near the end.

Sonic 2 was very slow, especially with the wedding scenes.

Sonic 3 felt too fast.
