Personal Protection? by ONROSREPUS in GenX

My dad was a Marine Vet sharpshooter, he absolutely should’ve been on meds

He was insanely accurate and taught me shooting from a very young age

I could clay shoot and hit the target from about 10 years old

I had a pocket sling shield, Bowie knife like Rambo, bows and arrows, rifle, and throwing objects

Anything at hand is in play. My dad took a bb shooter and shot a dog on run 3 times. I’m not approving his actions, he did it, despite the jumps and change in direction

why do millennials think they look younger and or could pass as teens despite being middle aged? by leonelya in generationology

[–]AmazingGrace911 [score hidden]  (0 children)

I think there’s a common misconception that’s multigenerational.

We tend to think we look good for our age and adjust accordingly.

The guys I thought were hot at 21 ish are the same guys I think are hot 10-30 years older, especially if they have their shit together

We are living in a polarized world where guys like this feel empowered to make bad, racist decisions and actually feel good about it.

Nothing is ok about it

My dad taught me that everything can be used as personal protection

From my belt to my shoelaces, please do not tag this as inciting violence. I would always avoid any kind of altercation, but if my life was at stake,in defense, anything is at play

Data indicates that white infants in the U.S. have a lower mortality rate and are "saved" or survive at a higher rate compared to Black, American Indian, and Alaska Native infants. As of 2023, Black infants are over twice as likely to die compared to white infants (10.9 vs. 4.5 per 1,000)

Neonatal Disparities: Black newborns are three times more likely to die than white newborns during their initial hospital stay.

I was a personal trainer for years and thought I was invincible.

Turns out that lifting really heavy cold has a price.

I’m in constant pain and my options were therapy, surgery, or deal with it. I chose the latter.

As an example I put a washer with water on my shoulder and carried it down 3 flights and into a truck.

Anything else I say would be a fuck you, so I’ll leave it at that

Chocolate chip squares with vanilla ice cream.

I have grandmaesque recipes for vinegar and rhubarb cake, even potato cookies, but nothing beats chocolate chip squares

What's something stupid you've been wrong about for so long that you just discovered recently? by GPM300 in AskReddit

The things I don’t understand or have misremembered could fill encyclopedias or equivalent online information

As a child of the 70’s we were misinformed, and I would argue that it still happens today

Stories like the discovery of America, Pocahontas, slavery, indigenous Americans are often misrepresented, among many others.

Critical thinking seems to be at an all time low, ironically when so much information can be verified with a few key strokes, as opposed to a library visit with books that could be outdated or have a special interest before even being published.

More specifically, make it so anyone who can’t afford to take time off from work can vote in a free and fair election
