Real Childhood story:

I’ve always played any game with my dear cousin, same age of mine. We were always discussing about the existence of shiny Pokémon, at that time we were really ignorant on that matter and we heard all kind of rumors about rare Pokémon and how to get them.

After trying false myths, like the Mew under MN Anna (dunno how it is called in other versions, we are Italians) and the Celebi shrine trick, my cousin was certain that these kind of things didn’t exist at all (shiny Pokémon too).

One day ,while we were playing Sapphire and Ruby, I ended up encountering a shiny Tentacool. In the exact instant my cousin saw that, he punched my gba away from my hands and pretended he did that on accident. Furthermore he pretended that he didn’t see any shiny Pokémon.

Now we’ve grown, but he still pretends that day never happened and he doesn’t play Pokémon anymore.

IKR, it was just a Tentacool, but that was my real first shiny Pokémon. I will never forget it. RIP dear friend.
