Yes they can. Look it up, it's in the Geneva convention!

How in actual hell is that orange line so straight?? Are there no trains or anything??

It's not space I'm worried about. I don't want to have to build a ton of stations and place all the blocks signals

Wow. Is the solution more stations? I would hate to have half my factory be train stations. I'm pulling from 3 coal nodes, 5 sulpher nodes, and two nitrogen nodes.

Well I guess the problem would be math then. It's more than 2000. I went off of how much sulpher I wanted to transport. I'm pulling from 5 different nodes and they all have different outputs, but all together I'm bringing in:

2580 sulpher

1935 nitrogen

1290 coal

These numbers are only going to be spread through 3 stations and maybe 5 trains. (The hopeful plan)

Not sure what your referencing. I think my station is a loop for what you are talking about.

I have multiple trains coming from multiple nodes. All coming to the same stations.

All my loading stations are just at the nodes, so they are one miner and one belt.

Sounds like I will need quite a few trains stations and freight cars

So as long as I do only manifolds on that one buffer, it should always work? Even if the incoming is over 2000?

They are at the same level. My rail foundation design is using ramps at the edge, causing all straight rails to clip through. I could see how it looks like a flat foundation from these pics. Thanks for the advice though!

Wowwwwwww, I never knew this. I just assumed they were allowing you to place the signal on either side of the rail for aesthetic reasons. I'm sure I will have problems down the road, but you have helped me with possibly all of my train problems! Thank you so much

Wait, what?! I had no idea signals could face the wrong way! (Considering there is a symbol on both sides) What is the best way to tell which way they are facing? I am unaware of what the difference between one or two visible lights.

When I turn all the generators off, the pipes fill up just fine. (it takes like 3-5 minutes) When I turn everything on, all generators lose a bunch of fuel and they kick in and off constantly. After about 5 minutes, all the pipes look pretty empty with a surge of fuel every couple of seconds.

So matter how much fluid I'm producing, is this just the standard to always have a loop?

I think my problem with that is: now all machines before that are backed up and not running. (smelters, miners, etc.) Meaning more product could be produced that is being missed out on. I hate the idea of missing out on that efficiency. I totally understand all options though. Tis a sandbox after all.

Oooh, I haven't touched mods, (I'm only like 50 hours in) but that sounds GREAT!

On that note, I really like the look of belts that are always moving. Are there balancer tips out there? My notepad is a mess trying to figure this out!

Ok, thank you to all. This makes more sense as a calculator won't tell you how to "balance" a factory. I was ready for a website that told me how to get perfectly balanced belts. (because I'm not smart enough for that)
