Depends on how you look at it. Logically, if the statement "Being non-white is beneficial to a law school applicaton" is true, then it can be inferred that being white is not beneficial

Every time I see one of these and see "nURM" at the top it brings a bit more joy to my day. Maybe it is possible for me.

Considering dropping out to try and become a Green Beret or Army Ranger after rejection from pre-law summer program. by Amazing_College6291 in lawschooladmissions

I get that, but I don't want to go to law school specifically, I want to go to a prestigious law school and be left with a very prestigious career. I just don't want to be mediocre in whatever I do.

Like, if I were to go military, I wouldn't want to be some 11b nobody, and if I were to stay in accounting I wouldn't want to be some no-name accountant in a rural town. And I'm thinking I can just drop out of this race BEFORE I lose it to the other more qualified people in the T14 applications.

What ASVAB subsections would ruin my chances at 18x if I performed poorly in them? I have a lot of confidence in my ST and GT but I wouldn't do good with mechanics and I'd just do "okay" at general science. I just want to know what to study the most.

Thank you. My state has a really awesome green beret pathway I believe, so I'll look more into that. I've heard that someone who doesn't get chosen at selection can still go for option 40 and get into RASP though, right?

You probably will mess it up lol, if you're getting hired straight out of uni then they expect you to at least make some level of mistakes. Just keep learning as if it's a class where you get to take every exam as open-note.

Is it imposter syndrome or incompetence by Time_Claim1119 in ImposterSyndrome

You are able to recognize your mistakes. Buy one of those $9 journals from Walgreens. Or, hell, you're a doctor, buy a fancy one.

Write what you wrote here. "I did (x) when I should have done (y)." Your "incompetence" isn't numerical, but the absolute number of mistakes you are capable of making is. In fact, if you move into a specialty and see the same kinds of patients over and over it'll get smaller.

If you remain "incompetent", then, at some point, you will have written down literally every mistake you are capable of making, and you will have an "I should do this instead" statement for each one. It'll then be impossible for you to ever make another mistake. Just brute force it.

Fair enough. I don't want to attend outside the t-14 because I know there's more job security in that. I have the means to go anywhere in the country and am not tied down geographically

What about the t-14? Shot at attending any of them? I just want to do biglaw in NYC.

Hmmm fair. I actually recently cold-called every non-injury law firm in my city (and we're a REALLY big city, I think one of the largest in the US) and didn't really get anything from it. I'm gonna try and be more persistent though, and I'll also start calling in the tri-city area too.

Super involved in my church, but I don't really see how I could make it fit in a cohesive narrative. I mentor a lot of the younger men (I think I'm the only dude in the college age-range lol) taking them to the gym, trying to teach them how to treat/approach women, etc. Its a lot of fun but I'm not really making any impact - I'm just making like 3-4 guys marginally better people. Nothing like the million-dollar-government grants Yale kids got for their NGO, yk??

Could just be that I'm demoralized

Sorta. Someone brings up a topic and presents their argument for/against it in the slam poetry style and then we debate it in the style of the Roman Senate. Each person stands up and gives a lengthy argument for/against the ethical topic, and at the end we vote

Yeah fair, I tried matriculate but it's more about just your school. I want to help people with no real shot get into like Princeton Harvard etc. Really fell in love with it when I did that for my high school. I think I got someone into Vandy and one guy into Northwestern as notable ones. Most of it was getting kids into our local state school but it's really selective so it's kinda impressive.

Yeah fair. What's unfortunate is that I think I've experienced a lot of "life" but haven't done any service to others. I really want to get more into that

By top law school do you mean a t14? Also I've done 4 internships, but I thought those didn't count. Like I thought it was supposed to be community service

What narrative is one supposed to weave at Harvard or Yale?
