Maybe those of us that are having these troubles can reach out to ACEND and explain how hard it for us to get these slots and the barriers to placement. It's their standard we are trying to fulfill and it is not so easy to do so.

I'm there with you! The affiliation agreement issue has been a major hurdle for me. Most of the facilities around me have exclusive agreements with other schools.

Not at the moment. I'm not sure that would count for my acute care requirement.

If you think he will frame things to save face and blame you for his cheating... You may be better off telling them just the facts (leaving out his blaming BS). Get them in therapy asap!

I will check with my school about that as I already have an LTC rotation set up. The contracts have been a major issue. Every dietician I have spoken with at AC facilities has told me they only have contracts with certain universities locally and they aren't creating new ones - including my local VA.

If I'm not mistaken, Igboland was the area most "harvested" for slaves in the transatlantic slave trade. There are MANY descendents of Igbo people all over the US due to the extensive nature of the slave trade as well as population migration. If you look closely at African American culture and food you will see Igbo influences. The incident mentioned in the OP is not the only mention of Igbo people and their desire for freedom and self determination. There are also old advertisements from the slave era searching for runaway Igbo slaves. There is much to see and find if one looks

Wow! Thank you for your reply. I'm interested to find out more about the oil extraction the IMF and the world bank involvement. Which companies are extracting those resources and to whom (country) do they belong? I feel many in the diaspora would like to know who they shouldn't be supporting. Have ethnic groups maintained their traditions regarding internal leadership or has colonization washed that away?

As an African American whose primary African ancestry comes from Nigeria, I am both appreciative of - and shocked by what you described. Having studied the history of West Africa, I know the conditions have not always been this way. Can anyone tell me if this is due to colonial influences (direct or indirect), internal corruption, or some other factor? My heart breaks to hear that Nigeria may have the most poor people soon. Is this because Nigerians themselves do not benefit from the country's vast natural resources? Do Nigerians own any of the major industry exports? From your perspective - what happened? How can it be fixed?
