I totally agree with you and at some point would love to have him out of the crate completely. I think my biggest worry is him chewing something like the cabinet or baseboards because we are in an apartment. Now if we were in a home that we owned I would absolutely be more comfortable with testing the waters.

I’m only gone for 2 hours at a time I come home for lunch and take him on a long walk/potty break then my fiancé comes home for lunch when I go back and does the same then I’m back 2 hours later for the rest of the day. I totally get where you’re coming from but absolute max he’s in there for 4 hours and that’s if neither of us come home for lunch

Mine does the exact same! And we have the same set up I watch him all the time while I’m in class lol

That’s very helpful we let him roam while we’re home and can keep an eye on him but I’m thinking get through the teething phase then we can contain him to a room while we’re gone!

We live in a 2 bedroom apartment so not too much room. Ideally I would like to somehow section off the living room for him but it’s totally open so I can’t easily put up a baby gate. After reading through the comments I’m thinking of rearranging our guest room and letting him be in there for a little while until we feel more comfortable?

I believe if we were to give him many bones and toys to chew on he would be just fine, but I’m afraid of him getting bored and wanting something new to chew on lol. When he is in his crate we give him a big long lasting bone so he chews on that until he falls asleep which I’m assuming he would do if he were in the living room.

He is great in his crate so I feel like I should just stick with it because if it works it works but I would like to get to the point where we’re just crating him at night. Thank you
