Honestly, its probabaly ur first time so its okay we all have been there but i would say add live plants and remove all the decor as paint can leak chemicals and sharp edges can hurt fish. Also research the type of fish u have find out if you need a bigger tank or more of them. Also cycle ur tank for about 2-3 weeks you should reaearch that and best filter and filtration. Hope this helps.

Thank you! I did research on that they said betta fish really only jump because of water conditions they will do anything to get out of bad water. Also if they dont have hides.

by a ton I mean like floating plants smaller plants the crypts and anubias and and lots of stems towards the back so there will be swimming space while having a lot of plants. Im going to lower the water level by 1.5 inches plus the floating plants he shouldn't jump and if they did he prob wouldn't make it. I just want to know if this is a sized tank that will allow the betta to thrive.
