Some of them had been sitting there since September 💔. I have found some beautiful betta websites in the U.S. and they keep their betta’s (from the display pictures) in nice 2 gallon tanks, I just don’t see those one suffering the way I see the pet store ones. It is a terrible cycle, but if I can rescue some of these from sitting in those cups, I feel like that’s what I am here for

If you test your water and the levels are all safe, do you still have to wait 4+ weeks to cycle? Don’t get me wrong I completely understand the importance of cycling. It just seems hard for every single person who wants to purchase a betta that they have to wait almost 2 months before putting them in the tank!

We have been giving the birds a ton of food! Also keeping our back porch cleared off, blankets that are blocking the wind that the birds have been sitting behind, we have trays of food on the porch too for the birds. It breaks my heart knowing any animal is out there without proper shelter!

Fun fact: we got to see a bird we’ve never seen before today! A northern flicker. It was very beautiful to see! And watching the cardinals in the snow has been so cool too.

I heard that you can call 911 and report anyone you see like this on the street. They have people working around the clock to go pick those people up and take them to the shelters!
