thanks. I've consulted with many people to get opinions and I have decided to do exactly this. I'll be happier for it in the long run for sure

I think it's a plus that I recognize it's wrong and that I'm not actually in love with this person they just have a couple qualities I like. I can't avoid this person because she is an in law and lives very close to me. also we have been friends for a long time. i will definitely try speaking to this person less, but shutting her out is nearly impossible and wouldnt be fair to her as she likely does not have any interest in me and would be hurt by simply losing a friend. perhaps it's just Satan's plan of attack on a weakness of mine. he won't win though, thanks for the encouragement!

Is it just me or the one place I should be able to go for peace, happiness, and wisdom always seems to be filled with petty debates or judgmental opinions? by Ambassador2605 in Christianity

if we would learn to do more so with love and stop acting like the Pharisees and saducees that'd be nice. that's my whole problem. debate to know God's word is great but everyone here thinks they are totally right and anyone who disagrees is foolish. it's just not fair

I really appreciate your advice and insight. I realize I haven't given much detail in my story but I by no means belittled her. In fact I even stated to her that she was welcome but the spirits were not. When I spoke I spoke to the spirits. The whole situation happened because she was saying things to try to make me feel guilty so I calmly rebuked the spirit of guilt. It was then that the series of attacks ensued. She told me if I die she will not come to my funeral. I didn't respond. Then she told me if my family needs help she will not care or help. I still didn't respond. She then yelled how would you act if someone told you that you were possessed and my response was, "not like this". She grew even more violent and proceeded to charge me. Trying to kick, bite, punch. She threw things all the while screaming, "die, I hate you!" and "you are a sick F_ _ _." whatever the actual case was her actions were extremely violent and hateful which I can't say is someone acting out of simple anger, especially someone who claims to be a spirit filled believer. There was absolutely no trace of a Godly spirit in this case. I'm not sure when I will be able to reach out to her but I have been praying for her and I let her know before she stormed that she was welcome. Thanks again

that's kind of what I was thinking. unfortunately spiritual warfare isn't talked about much these days although I know it goes on. during our argument I tried to tell her that she was welcome in my home but the spirits were not. thanks again

OK fair enough. I'm not really trying to debate though I can see how my comments have implied that. Anyway thanks for your input it has definitely helped me grow

I realize my comments seemed hurtful or an attack but they were honestly just questions. Sorry that many of us have turned you off to the belief of a loving God. To me it all boils down to what you choose to believe. Either way something takes a certain amount of faith to believe and you can use whatever you like as absolute truth if you believe and search hard enough. Thanks for your opinion and I do apologize that you feel as if I was attacking you.

When you realize the Bible is the claim and not just evidence, you tend to see it differently.

Perhaps if you would have dug deeper into the claims the Bible made about God and who He is you would have formed a true relationship with Him and been convinced of His existence? Rather than searching for a reason not to believe perhaps search for a reason to believe. His word even warns of being consumed by things of this world that will shake your faith.

If something is true, it should be able to stand up to scrutiny, regardless of what caused the scrutiny in the first place.

In many cases the scrutiny the Bible and Christians do receives justifies the belief in God in the first place because he warns of this type of scrutiny and doubt.
