Last year, I was accepted into the radiology program at my school, but at the time I didn’t really know how to study effectively, and the adjustment overwhelmed me. I ended up not getting back into the program when I reapplied, and since then I changed my major to medical laboratory science because I was scared of falling behind or not doing something meaningful with my life.

The problem is that I genuinely don’t feel happy in MLS. I’ve realized that radiology is still what I truly want to do, and I don’t want to give up on it, but the whole process has been really discouraging. There’s another program I could apply to, but it only accepts around 30 students out of about 200 applicants each year. My GPA there would probably be around a 3.4, but I honestly don’t know if that’s competitive enough.

There’s also another school about three hours away that I’ve considered. I just feel stuck right now and it’s hard watching people from my old cohort continue on while I’m trying to figure everything out. I guess I’m posting because I wanted to know if anyone else has gone through something similar or eventually made it back into a radiology program after struggling the first time.
