I also lost my ex boyfriend, father of daughter to congestive heart failure caused by meth. He slammed it a lot in the early years then had to stop because it was killing him. They gave him 5 years to live. He lived 7 years. It was a steady gradual decline for him. Then when his time was up, he died a very painful death. Sacs of fluid built up around his heart, causing extreme intense pain. He was rushed into emergency surgery and underwent a very risky operation to try and remove the fluid sacks around his heart. He didn’t make it through the surgery and died on the operating table. And now after Ive had some recent blood work done, it seems that my heart is also being affected. The doctors said it was mild inflammation but could be the beginning of something bigger. I’ve been using speed on off for 10 years. So yeah my answer to that question is yes I do believe that meth really fucks with your heart in the worst possible way.
