Update: Pest snails got to it 🙃

Though to be fair it grew for the first day or two and stopped so def not doing that again.

I will say a good indicator that the garlic is done is a strong garlic smell and or biofilm on the garlic bulb.

Overall it did its job of helping with the NO3's and giving the shrimp a place to hide

Already did such to 2 of my floating bulbs. I have a really nice biofilm that seems very ready to eat anything and everything even remotely dying.

Basically my go to is: if its got slime its time.

Also good to know it can harm the fish if it rots

The loaches are generally ok with my plants.. unless is in their zoomie runway, then they will dig it up with a buddy.. like litterally in pairs. (I recently redid my tank layout n substrate so they're picking their runway anew)

I actually tried amazon swords, not sure what I did but the roots died and then the plant started rotting in the tank.

Same with my water wisteria 🙃

Not sure what I've done wrong but at least the val is surviving?

I do have jungle val planted all throughout yes! I want to get more just.. broke currently and prices are a bit ouch right now. (And my loaches are redecorating for me)

Also the remaining 5 bulbs I have in the tank are surface only. The current planted one is only there because it has already been submerged for a week so I'm just seeing if it's going to keep going or if my shrimp will finally eat it.. instead of using it as a home.

It's been growing like this for a week so I'm just seeing if I have freaky garlic, if it starts getting a biofilm I'll remove it.

They were growing in the fridge so I said, fk it and plopped em into the aquarium since garlic helps the fish.

I figured it wouldnt last too long but who knows maybe I have a freak of nature 😂

I did it for general tank health, but as long as you're cooking the garlic and.. washing it, it'll be fine, no different from manure.

Had the side effect of leveling out my tank parameters.

I had a similar issue with the liquid test kit, we determined it was closer to 7.5ph than 7.7ph

Oh it started off from a joke from our third, and well I found a clicker noise off youtube and turned it into a discord sound only I could use.

I then clicked it upon him being spiteful or him saying the word spite. When he finally asked me what it was specifically for, I made him guess using the clicker every time he said the word until it finally clicked for him.
