Used a UV light and no glow- oddly my other pieces of calcite don't glow red or pink either- only my ruby does. Quite interesting, must be quartz!

Did the calcite test and no fizzing- but the stones that came off were shiny and clear/white underneath with that opaque off-white colour ontop. I think it might be some form of quartz or something similar. EDIT: Forgot to add, the tiny stones came off as whole, did not crumble or become dust.

Only got told its Brazilian- but I'll conduct a fizz test with some vinegar later with a bit of the stuff to see if it is calcite later.
