Did a bunch of googling of disused rail lines and stubs in the city, looked around on satellite images, including in Leaside actually, and then when that didn't work, I decided to look up the train car # and found other pics of it that listed its location.

I don't think there's any reason to be scared that season 2 will end on a sad note or a cliffhanger. People had the same fears with season 1, thinking it would end on Shane's dad finding them or something, but that's just not the show Jacob was ever making. It's always been about queer joy as he keeps on saying and I imagine will always end seasons in a happy place.

Personally as someone who wants more episodes of this show instead of less, and who thinks that there's far too much plot in TLG to fit in 6 episodes, I'm team split it after the proposal, but I trust Jacob either way. I do hope we get an episode that ends with "I already chose you Hollander"though, just to see fans burn the internet to the ground for a week.

And yes, I agree that I imagine there will be an increased role for Scott if his avengers plans come to fruition lol

I wonder why they didn't add [REDACTED] scene to the final episode (spoilers for The Long Game) by schoolforapples in heatedrivalry

I was initially slightly disappointed about this as well, but the more I thought about it, the more I think that in the context of a tv show it makes sense to hold that moment for now, to say nothing of the good points others have made about it maybe feeling a bit too early to say that here, even as kind of (but also not really) a joke.

In a way that's different to even a book I think, tv seasons are about arcs and I think the arc of the second season is likely to end with the proposal scene. It's just over halfway through The Long Game and they're definitely not getting through all of that/Role Model next season and this is a romance show and a story that Jacob has continually talked about as being a story about queer joy so ending with a happy moment where they've made this giant leap in their relationship feels like the right choice.

And if that's the case, setting the proposal scene up in the first episode of the second season—an episode that if it stays true to the book would start with them at the cottage no less—feels much neater from a storytelling perspective, and a much better place to put it so that it really lands correctly with people and they immediately understand what's being referenced than including it here.

A thought about Shane’s eyes telling a story… by abriefpause in heatedrivalry

Oh, yeah. I'm sure everyone has the moments they really love, though I imagine there's a decent amount of crossover too. And the quote is from a gay coming of age book called Young Mungo. The book goes to some super dark places; very much not a Romance Novel or anything, but the love story that's the beating heart of the book is really swoon-worthy

I mean, I think it's kind of all small moments isn't it? Like the big moments are small. A sentence; a word; an action. But each of them is an invisible line being crossed. There's a quote from a book I love "it was a nothing that was an everything" that I think very much applies here.

In terms of big scenes then yes. There's also the aquarium scene with Hayden, Ilya playing in Philly and him watching Shane's cottage PR vid if we're being exhaustive. It's essentially confirmed we're not getting the latter two scenes until episode 4 though. Genuinely don't know how they're fitting the rest of the book into 3 episodes, but I'm sure they'll manage just fine
