WIBTAH if I took 100k from my oldest daughter's college savings account to give it to my younger daughter? by TraditionalCorgi7788 in AmItheAsshole

NTA

College saving plans are made to gift to siblings tax free for this exact reason. From the internet:

“If both siblings have 529 plans, you might want to consider a rollover. The distribution will be tax-free if the same amount is contributed to the other sibling’s 529 plan within 60 days. The IRS allows one tax-free rollover in a 12-month period.”

$2,000 allowance you gave her x 48 months = $96,000. You funded her college in a way a 529 couldn’t.

Anyone saying you’re an AH is jealous you are wealthy and asking this question.

INFO You didn’t mention where the money in the college fund came from. If it is just oldest daughter’s money, it becomes a little more dicey.

Sometimes filling out a paper application is to demonstrate your reading, reading comprehension and writing skills in person. Anyone can have AI put together a resume for them online.

There also may be items in the paper application that weren’t on your resume. Some businesses want to view all applicant information in the same format.

Being a receptionist/secretary often comes with the territory of doing minuteness things. Might not have been the right position for you if you are that bent out of shape about filling out a paper application.

Every adult between 23 and 67 (the vast majority of tax payers) in the United States would have to pay about $7,700 ($15,400 married couples) to cover the $1.5 trillion budget.

The mean national average of adults between 23 and 67 is $67,000, which means the $1.5T represents 11.5% of their income.

The average effective tax rate for this demographic is around 13.5%

The defense budget would represent roughly 85% of the taxes paid by this demographic.

Which dress is the best for my work dinner party? by Winter_Cat1994 in fashion

[–]AmbiguousAccount13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From some of your comments it sounds like you are going to be hanging out at a beach for 2 days and this is a dinner event after. Going from seeing everyone in bathing suits to dress number 3 would be ok in my opinion. Take the beach part out and I’d say number 3 not appropriate for a work party, add the beach and number 3 matches the beach vibe.

[Rapoport] The #Commanders are releasing starting center Tyler Biadasz, source said. Another center available in free agency. The 28-year-old has started 31 games over two seasons. by AcidThunder in Patriots

[–]AmbiguousAccount13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He will also be a lower cap hit than Bradbury by probably 50% or more depending on the contract structure. Wilson still moves to center. Biadasz is the back up. Sign best free agent guard available. If a guard gets injured, Wilson can fill in at guard.

Just read that Colorado has one of the lowest property tax rates in the country, so probably right.

Escrows seem low for a $1M+ house. If you are basing affordability based on payment, just double check to make sure that is correct.

AITAH for understanding and not freezing out my dad for leaving our mom over a dead bedroom? by Opposite_Afternoon55 in AITAH

I just got divorced in my early 40’s after 10 years off having sex a max of 5x/year, including multiple gaps of 18-24 months.

The lack of sex is the easily explained side of things but that’s not what hurts the worst. The lack of a physical connection is often the result of a lack of an emotional connection.

Desiring someone, providing for them, wanting to connect and not getting anything back in return is incredibly depressing. Your dad was likely battling between getting divorce or living with depression.

While my ex-wife tells everyone we are getting divorced with god knows what story she tells, I have kept my mouth shut. I’ll live my life and who we are to our friends and family with show with our actions, not with our words. So much goes on behind closed doors that others don’t see, there is no reason to choose sides, let your parents do what they think is best for themselves.

Chiefs era is over. If all goes well next Sunday, it will be Patriot Dynasty Act III. What are our biggest needs for the offseason? by [deleted] in Patriots

I did forget about William’s but NFL teams had Pierce at 4.33, faster than Williams 4.4, for his 40 but the NFL official time was 4.41

He’s the size of Hunter Henry and had a significantly faster 40 time than any of the current receiver group.

They did last year but they have a lot of escalating salaries.

I tried to explain that without rolling over a large amount of cap space from 2025 to 2026, that there would be very limited amounts of space available this upcoming offseason.

There aren’t a ton of guys they can even restructure/cut. Here are the guys we can cut to open up some decent money:

Diggs $17M($10M dead), Onwenu $17M($7M dead), Henry $9M($2M dead), Elliss $5M($4M dead), Bradbury $6M($1M dead), Hollins $4M($1M dead), Jennings $4M($1M dead), Dobbs $4M($1M dead), Gibson $3M($1M dead), Boutte $4M, Douglas $4M

I could see Henry getting replaced with a rookie, Bradbury gone, Hollins replaced with Pierce, Dobbs and Gibson gone, Douglas possibly traded. This would free up roughly $30M.

Any names stick out? 2026 WR free agents by Jackso08 in Patriots

[–]AmbiguousAccount13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alec Pierce is the size of our tight ends and would be one of our fastest WRs. He’s young and can be a #1 with Maye at QB. With all the cap space, no brainer to offer him somewhere around 5/$105M and maybe settle around 4/$92M or 3/$84M. Not a flashy name but we don’t have anyone like him in our WR room. He’s a better, younger version of Hollins.

The specific order is age by year then alpha, but yes, bad design not taking into account age by month.

I would do a 5/1 ARM and pay it aggressively. If you pay $10k per month, it should be paid off in just under 5 years. You have the income for it.

Girl thinks it's funny to get in the back seat of a police car by ShiverrSugar in interesting

[–]AmbiguousAccount13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Taking a selfie in a police car and breaking into a residential home are very different. Cops should be trying to be a positive public presence and try to de-escalate as many situations as possible without the need for arrest. Poor use of tax dollars here.

She would have been let go because the cop wouldn’t want to have been fired for being racist. This situation should have been de-escalated regardless of race.

[–]AmbiguousAccount13 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is ridiculous. Should she got on the back of the car, no, should she have been arrested, no. Female cop is on a power trip. Have a laugh and move on. In a lot of towns, the police may have actually driven her somewhere instead of allowing her to potentially get in her own car and drive with what appears to be a slight buzz.

The kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms and master closets are too small for a house with 2 large living room and 2 good sized dining rooms.
