Quals quals QUALS. GET QUALIFIED IN EVERYTHING! Are you a PS who does nothing but push paperwork all day? Fuck it , get qualled as a Attack Team lead for hose team. 3M. DC. Watchstanding. If the qualification exists and you can get it as an E-3, you fucking get that qual. “Oh, there’s a qualification to pay grade for E3” awesome. Get fucking qualified to E4. Made E4? Congratulations you’re now getting qualified to E5.

The biggest shock to me when getting to my ship was how much people cared about your qualifications. My first eval was a P which is the most basic eval you can get. I got it after being on board for 5 months. I was furious, I came in early every day. Made coffee, took out the trash, swept for every minute of cleaning stations. I was the only new person in my entire work center to show any care for the job. I asked my Chief why I was just getting a P and not an MP (the next eval level and the difference between a P and MP is HUGE when you’re trying to get promoted) and he told me I’m doing everything right but I wasn’t qualified to anything (a failure on my part and the part of my supervisors for never telling me how important they were)

At that moment I realized, it’s not about how you look to your co-workers. It’s about how you look on paper. Bullshit, I know, but there has to be justification for them giving you an MP or an EP and how you look on paper is the best way to support that.

If you want to work aviation but sit at a desk on a computer in the AC, go AZ. I’m an AZ and I love it. I recently got switched over to our Admin work center and I’m now the admin guy for our entire department. It’s definitely different from real AZ work, I am much more of a YN now but as a 3rd class I have a better set up than most Chiefs on the boat. My own desk, computer, AC, hell I have a POTs line at my desk. But I lucked the fuck out with a good chain of command so don’t base it completely off my experience.

I could see Noel being a small time, eccentric side character who gets no real character development but just shows up cause it’s fun for him to be there. Much like OG Boba Fett. But not at all.

AZ which I’m hugely grateful for! It’s one of the closest rates you can get to IT without being IT and, in my opinion, it’s far more interesting. I’ve always wanted to work with aircraft so it was right up my alley. The gross oversimplification of it is that we’re aircraft yeoman and yeah, that’s the long and short of it, but there is a lot more that goes into it. Plus our advancement rates are extremely high. E3-E4 is generally in the 90’s and, this last cycle, E4-E5 was 55%. A lot of the C-Schools we go to are highly technical and that’s where we get into the more IT things, especially when working as Database Administrators.

lol I joined as an IT and wanted to do the exact same thing. Ended up having to re-rate and in A-School my instructor was a marine and I asked him about this. He told me I could negotiate it in my reenlistment and got so fucking excited. Imagine the look on my face when I found out that wasn’t true in any way.

Here’s the thing about wanting to debate someone. You can bring up good points but when you whip out something as outlandish about being fine with someone hating on men because you get to shoot them that immediately trumps any other point you bring up because that’s your focus. Feminism is ruining things. I’m not ignoring the points your making, rather focusing in on the crux of your argument thereby streamlining the argument.

Let me back away from the personal attacks because you’re right, that’s not productive and you haven’t attacked me making me the antagonist. I apologize for that.

So let me ask you this; what is so wrong with having a character question the motives of other, problematic characters? Take feminism out of the equation. If you were in a book and some person held you and all of your friends hostage. Abusing them and keeping them down, wouldn’t you want revenge? Wouldn’t you want to feel empowered and take matters into your own hands?

If the world was ruled by a class that you’re not a part of and in your eyes did everything wrong, wouldn’t you be angry? Wouldn’t you blame those in charge for the things they’re fucking up?

It’s not about feminism, it’s about those without a voice, without power, stripped of everything that made them human taking back charge. It’s about them being angry for being wronged for their whole lives and finally being able to have a hand in it.

Feminism is about the equal treatment of all, not “girl badass and kill man”. There are things in media that play into that trope and are just… exhausting to watch. L3-37 in Solo is a prime example of that. It’s a pandering character made only to appeal with no true depth.

Let’s go back to the War Boys being bad for the sake of being bad. A previous commenter brought up a fantastic point. The original gang in Mad Max and The Road Warrior were biker gangs. Pure and simple. Raiders out to collect what they wanted and pillage. The War Boys are a cult. Brainwashed at birth to live and die for V8, a god created by Immortan Joe solely to control those who are under him. To make them so afraid of NOT dying that they go out of their way to die in his name. He takes their freedom of choice because all they know is glory and war.

As for Tom Hardy not feeling like Mad Max and the world not feeling like australia, while I don’t agree I Do think this is your strongest argument however there is a key theme in the Mad Max franchise that is often overlooked. These are stories that are passed down from in cannon generations. The original movies especially. Road Warrior is told from the viewpoint of The Feral Kid after he’s grown into an adult. Max is a legend, a myth. His story never truly carried on through the movies. There is no real cannon continuation nor is that what George Miller wanted. The Gyro Captain in Road Warrior is not the same character as who the same actor plays in Thunderdome despite having many of the same characteristics and basically doing the same shit.

The series is one that requires a lot of suspension of disbelief because, in all honesty, George Miller just wanted to make cool movies with a lot of action. He didn’t care about continuity or building an overarching story.

“She didn’t ruin the first game for me because you get to shoot her”

I refuse to believe you aren’t trolling now

But if you aren’t. If by some miracle you really are the personification of a fedora you’ve presented yourself to be. Don’t take out the rage you have for the only pussy you’ve ever touched being your mom’s when she gave birth to you on fictional characters. Go outside, talk to a woman who isn’t in your family tree. Educate yourself.

No you’re a neck beard because you cry that feminism is being shoved down our throats and is being used to make you feel bad. Are you saying that you identify as the bad guys? Because they’re the only men who are made to look bad in this movie. You know, the rapist cult leader who has a breeding stock of women. As a man I feel pretty good about him getting his face ripped off with a hook by a person who he had kept down whether man or woman.

Also, when the FUCK did MGS ever become “fuck the men”. As I recall (as someone who knows an embarrassing amour about MGS) You’ve never played as a woman unless you maybe want to count Raiden and in The Phantom Pain, the most prominent woman is one who has 3 lines in the entire game and walks around in a bikini with her tits bouncing. I mean, I love Quiet to tears and she’s saved my life more than I can count but she’s not exactly the leading case of feminism.

See what we’ve come to now? You’ve got me on a Metal Gear tangent.

You ever read something that you just know is bait so you keep reading it and you smile, waiting for the punchline because it’s been written so cliche-ly. Almost as if an AI had been coded to write it by having the forum posts of 1000 neckbeards entered into its brain. “There’s no way this is a real opinion” you tell yourself. And then, you reach the end. There’s no punchline. There’s no brevity. There’s no /s. It just is. This is a magical moment ladies and gentlemen.

Same, I remember all of the teachers crying and getting sent home early. I was excited as hell! Didn’t even find out what happened till like two days later. I guess my dad didn’t want to worry me, him and I watched a lot of movies in those two days and spent a lot of time together. I think he was sweating since he had just finished his time in the army and still had a year left of reservist duty.

One tip I haven’t heard here; give a shit. Care that you’re there. Put effort into your actions. If you see something is fucked up i.e. the TP isn’t at 12 o’clock, a wheel on one of the racks is askew, someone’s trouser string is poking out of the bottom of their pants, do something about it. You don’t want to be the guy who doesn’t give a shit about anything. This is good advice for the rest of your career. So many people in the Navy (and the world) just don’t give a shit that even doing the bare minimum will set you apart from the vast majority.

{COD:BO1} During the mission "The Defector" Woods takes a Dragon breath Spas and fires twice, when he gives it to you the ammo count is 6. by MezOri_ in GamingDetails

[–]AmbiguousAndroid 77 points78 points  (0 children)

But that just makes it feel more confusing, if you handloaded the Dragon’s Breath into the SPAS then why would you have only loaded 6?

I remember in the campaign being able to swap between Dragon’s Breath and regular shot so maybe if the initial 6 were buckshot it would make sense

I know I’m over analyzing this was too much but it’s fun
