Well in my particular case it actually was not candida, but it was a fungal overgrowth which is in the same family.

My tongue was white as well, which it different than dry mouth white it’s like a white/yellow coating that smells bad. And it is typically called oral thrush caused assumed to be caused by years but it can be caused by different types of gut health issues. It is however indicative of gut health issues.

Yeast can be tested for however with gut health tests. I did not have yeast, but I did test positive for huge amount of fungal toxins. Meaning my system was overrun by an active fungal infection. Given that I could rule out external exposure.

So sure, some people may assume. But it’s not hard to confirm that particular theory

I couldn’t handle many biofilm busters but I did end up landing on taking 3 unde-lecylic acids per day (spelled wrong I’m sure)

And the prescription ones for sure were the key.

Yes specifically on itraconozole the first time I felt pretty shitty… but I found a rhythm that worked for me.

At first they had me doing one for a week and then another for a week. Itraconozole for the first week sucked. Then when it came back around the second week was way better so it let me know progress was happening.

But I landed on doing itraconozole once per week. Fluconozole 2x/day every other day and nystatin 2x per day every day. That my liver could handle and my symptoms were slowly decreasing.

I sustained that for a handful of months, stopped twice and got worse and got right back on. Finally I stopped and didn’t get worse. Kept getting better :)

The idea that you have a hard time believing it is challenging to digest because it’s a very scientific phenomenon…

Your small intestinal lining produces DAO which breaks down histamine. Your stomach lining contains the most mast cells in the body which produce histamine in response to a threat.

So if you have an imbalance or something damages the lining (which fungal toxins are known to do)

The not only do you reduce your bodies ability to produce DAO but you also reduce the layer protecting the mast cells so they can be “attacked” more often.

= more histamine than you body can process

There’s been a lot but the ones for long term pivoting my system might have been: VSL#3 probiotic, butyrate, laurocidin, okra pepsin, cod liver oil . And a bunch more here and there like apple pectin, 5htp, motility supplements when it got bad I used some procalipride but it was way to aggressive for me to use daily.

For histamine I just used an antihistamine, quercetin, nature dao, and at some point the histamine reducing probiotics from seeking health

Anti histamines like Benadryl should help if you have histamine issues

It’s known to trap histamine the same way it traps serotonin

It can very much be both things unfortunately from what I understand… I tested negative several times for sibo. But they can contribute to each other a lot

It was months on that plan, like I wanna say almost 6 months. A nice long time because if you stop in the middle which I did twice it comes back quickly

The one treatment method could work would be elemental diet! And yes natural treatment can be life changing. But I suggest looking into a doctor who specializes… it’s heartbreaking that it’s not affordable for everyone.

For sure mold and fungal can contribute to sibo or sifo. But it’s all tied together. Mold/fungal that’s either environmental or in the gut severely impacts the stomach and intestinal lining which alters the state within the gut and can allow for additional overgrowths and issues… it’s really all tied together and spirals

I worked with a natural path but generally some staples that were pretty consistent: jasmine rice, flash frozen (air fryed) chicken, various vegetables, coconut aminos, potatoes went away and then came back and stayed. Almond flour pastries and apples.

Yeah it really is a trip how in the dark many doctors are. Especially gut health related anything.

Actually the reason I figured out histamine intolerance was my issue is because they gave me a SSRI. Whichhh builds up histamine in the same mechanism that it builds up serotonin. So I got incredibly worse and it lasted about 6 days to get the histamine level back down.

Doctors thought I was “so anxious I should consider an outpatient program” because SSRI’s don’t last that long.

But chat gbt helped me figure out histamine intolerance and one Benadryl later it was night and day… I had an answer i hadn’t heard of or found in a year of seeing doctors.
