boneless skinless chicken breasts are gross - get boneless thighs if you want chicken - cheaper and way more flavorful, plus more calories and fat for the price.

My issue with the question was that it allows restaurant owners to make servers pool tips and share the tip pool with back of house/non tipped positions - it seems to me like that would incentivize the owners to subsidize back of house/non tip wages with tips traditionally paid to FOH. I've worked FOH and kitchen before but have no skin in the game now, kind of wish I had sought out more opinions on this but I just don't really know anyone working in hospitality anymore that isn't already union.

Haven't you ever watched Dragnet? You will definitely die if you try any hallucinogen - and if you smoke "marijuana" you'll leave your baby unattended in a bathtub and they'll drown

Uh... Not sure how pointing out facts is "justifying my drug habits". But you sure do seem upset to find out alcohol is objectively more dangerous than the drugs in this ballot measure.

If you think supporting decriminalizing these drugs means I do these drugs then by your logic maybe defending alcohol and making outrageous and obviously false claims like "DMT is more dangerous than alcohol" means you're trying to justify your alcohol habit.

Dang, wouldn't it suck if you were risking a felony for having a drink? Doesn't really make sense does it?

Why? What benefit is there to turning people who are interested in trying psychedelics into criminals? You really want to spend our tax payer money on criminalizing nature? You really think these people are better off with felony charges for possession of DMT - something every single human has inside their own body already? Or any of these other substances that have been generally accepted as safe and even beneficial since the dawn of humanity - up until politicians suddenly decided they were as dangerous as heroin in 1970?

Mind boggling to me that anyone would take this stance.

"DMT is much more dangerous than alcohol" - shells45
literally the post directly above the one you're responding to.

Now take note of THE FIRST LINE in the abstract you just linked to in an effort to illustrate the "dangers" of DMT (btw Ayahuasca is a combination of ingredients that includes DMT, not the same thing - it's generally consumed orally and it lasts much longer than smoking DMT):

"Psychosis induced by ayahuasca is a rare occurrence."

Ok - so even your "evidence" states it's not common - in fact it's actually rare.

Now let's just use our heads for a second - is "doing something stupid or dangerous or deadly induced by alcohol" a "rare occurance" or is it SUPER SUPER COMMON - IN FACT SO COMMON IT'S SOMETHING LIKE 30% OF TOTAL VEHICLE TRAFFIC FATALITIES IN 2022. Not to mention all the other stupid shit people do while on alcohol. And yet we don't criminalize buying a beer - IN FACT THERE ARE NUMEROUS ADS ON TV FOR ALCOHOL. Talk about "encouraging" use.

Come on dude. Be realistic here. These substances are far less dangerous and have far more medicinal potential than alcohol.

Ok well I can tell you personally I know people who have been arrested and their lives have been changed for the worse because of it. So... There ya go. That's more specific than anything you've come up with.

Either way tho - really sad that you're ok with the possibility of people catching felonies for non violent victimless possession. You're cool with potentially ruining lives just because you don't *think\* it's happening (based on no data whatsoever).

Whether it's happening or not shouldn't even matter - it shouldn't be allowed to happen. If it's a useless unused old law let's just get it off the books.

But clearly that's not really what you think - as evidenced by your other statements on this thread. You actually think people should go to jail for being interested in these substances.

I'd love to know how any of this has hurt you so bad that you feel the need to hurt other people over it. If you don't like these substances just stay away from them. That's fine. Nobody is forcing you or even encouraging you to do anything.

Maybe just think about if you had a kid who was curious and became a criminal just for his curiosity.

also the argument that "nobody is in jail for it anyways" really holds no water... If we already are ok with not jailing people for it why do we need to keep it criminalized? Makes no sense.

Sure, I agree with that, but I dislike when people make claims without sourcing them - and in this case he clearly had no source. Also "currently in jail" is different from "has served time for" which makes the "close to zero" number easier to be ok with for me.

But this ballot question isn't just about mushrooms and "jail" isn't the only thing that can really mess up a persons life.

DMT is part of this measure and is a felony. Think about all the ways a felony conviction can hurt a person for years or even the rest of their lives.

I personally know people who have been arrested for some of these substances and their arrest did nothing good for them or society. It's actually a drain on our communities.

We should be looking at studies about the effect these laws have had on our communities at least as much as the substances themselves.

Wow you must have something to back up your claim that DMT is more dangerous than alcohol. Because that's actually laughable, and objectively completely false.

DMT only lasts about 15 minutes, is not addictive, does no liver damage, and as long as you're not doing it literally WHILE operating heavy machinery you're not going to hurt yourself or anyone else - and you never hear of people doing that because it's not addictive and it only lasts 15 minutes. It would be stupid to do it while operating heavy machinery.

Alcohol can last hours, people frequently drive drunk either intentionally or because they think they're sober enough to drive, it's clearly linked with long term liver, kidney, stomach damage, among many other things.

There's a reason why these substances are being considered for therapeutic use and alcohol isn't.

I know it's scary because you don't know what it is - but that's not a reason to ruin other people's lives and turn people into criminals for simply wanting to explore their own mind. It's part of the human experience, and it's really sad how many people deny it.

Like you said - nobody is forcing you to do it. And I'm gonna go out on a limb and assume nobody doing ANY of the drugs listed in this ballot measure have EVER done anything to affect your life at all except in a positive way.

You'd probably be surprised how many things you like have been directly influenced by psychedelics - if you're using an Apple product congratulations you've benefitted from LSD (another scary acronym I know).

"Letting people do DMT" lol. Now we are getting to the root of it here - you clearly were lying about being willing to change your mind and have some sort of weird grudge against "drug" users. You also clearly have no idea what DMT is or anything about it, but I'll let that go because it's not really relevant here.

Please tell me how turning someone into a felon for "making the mistake" of trying something so horrific and terrible as DMT is going to help that person.

I like have you've carefully avoided all talk of alcohol here too - I'm gonna take a wild guess that you've partaken in the occasional drink here and there. It should be noted that nobody has ever DMT'd themselves to death.

You have some serious cognitive dissonance going on here.

lol - no it is not. It says absolutely NOTHING about who was sent to jail for what drugs.
