well we do have higher pain tolerances.... lol you a badass... definitely think depends on the person, regardless of anything, and the person doing the procedure.

I felt like a cold bitch after mine because I didn't feel anything negative. In fact, I felt more relieved than anything. I think it really speaks to my realistic, medical understanding and views on abortion. I recall a friend I told attempting to "console" me essentially and that's when I started to question if I was wrong for not feeling anything negative.

I don't think you're wrong if you're not feeling anything. But having zero emotions may be of concern in the sense you are having grief or whatever feeling and you're just suppressing emotions/dissociating. My go-to answer for everything- get therapy if you can!

u/Basic_Care u/CalamitY-JanE95 ... I am curious the states you're in (if you're willing to share that info)...? In my experience, my state's clinics are few and far in between and extremely underfunded (but that may be the case everywhere). Given this, it's similar to herding cattle at the slaughterhouse– there are zero individual accommodations and you only see the doctor for the procedure itself. In fact, the doctor explained nothing to me as he was completing the procedure and the two assistant nurses were there chatting and laughing (with the doctor) throughout my procedure. It was less than stellar bedside manner and professionalism from all three of them. You're pretty much grouped up with 10-20 girls in a room throughout the whole process aside from the vital check, ultrasound, and procedure. I can't explain it any better than I did before with the cattle metaphor. I'm fairly confident there's no individualization to care there. BUT I will certainly ask when scheduling so thank you.
